Roxanne Ward of Parkersburg is arguably the greatest of athletes to ever have passed through the halls of the most winning women's program in history of West Virginia State Track. She was a field event fans dream, taking state titles in the long jump, high jump and shot put. In addition, she became a very good discus thrower by her senior year. She is the only female athlete to rank in the top ten in her class in 3 different field events. Her combination of strength, speed and leaping ability made her stand out at everything she attempted on her way to becoming one of the best female athletes in the states history.
