Huntington easily claimed the first decade of West Virginia track and field by easily taking all 3 methods. Huntington captured the meet title and won four of the first five state meets as meets were held in Huntington, Charleston and Morgantown. Individually, they were led by Dornick the exclusive method's top athlete of the decade and a two time high point scorer. Also taking high point titles for the team during the decade were Freutal, Honaker and Carl Anderson.
Charleston was a clear second and was the only school other than Huntington to claim a championship. They were led by Lane Anderson who dominated the sprints during the early year's and was the Inclusive Method's top athelte of the decade.
Parkersburg took third for the decade and narrowly missed the inaugural title in 1914 and also came in second in 1919. Their top athlete of the decade was miler Beyers who won the event the first two years and was the first prep runner to break the five minute barrier at the state meet (4:47 1/2).
