The state meet predictions are based on results have gathered throughout the season, head-to-head competitions, regional results, perceived potential, trends and (of course) gut feeling.

AAA Boys Team Predictions

Cabell Midland comes in as the favorite, but not a resounding one.  They have some upside
and some downside.  University is pretty solid in their points, but they don't have a ton
of upside.  They'll likely need Cabell Midland to falter a bit.  If both teams have problems,
there are others that aren't too far back.  Teams 3 through 6 all have some upside potential,
and it's even possible for someone to have a blowout meet and make me look like an idiot 
like Martinsburg did last year.

Winfield comes in as the solid favorite.  Morgantown will likely need them to falter in
a couple areas to get the win.  University doesn't have a lot of upside on their point
production, nor does Huntington.  The teams with the most likely upside potential may be
Hurricane, Parkersburg, and Cabell Midland.

This one could come down to the wire.  I have just four points separating the top 3
teams.  Any of them could take it.  East Fairmont has some upward potential, but probably
not enough to pass all three of these teams.  Poca has limited upward potential.  Bluefield
could move into the top 5.  The most upward potential from down in the pack is probably
from Ritchieor Berkeley Springs.

Bridgeport again comes in as the prohibitive favorite, but as we saw last year,
things can happen.  The race for 2nd should be very good between Liberty Harrison,
North Marion, and Weir.  Each of the 3 has some upside potential.

I was surprised at my final result.  I expected things to be much closer.  As it
is, I have Williamstown as a very heavy favorite.  The battle for 2nd could go 
about 6 deep, but St. Marys appears to have the edge over Buffalo and Wheeling
Central.

This could end up being a pretty good battle.  Magnolia and Wheeling Central
score points in bunches.  Magnolia recently took over the top spot in the
Power Rankings and will look to uphold that ranking.  They have some big
point producers.  Wheeling Central gets big relay points.  Williamstown is
heavily field event reliant.  Charleston Catholic and Doddridge have upside
potential and could jump into the top 3.
