100 M 1. Hannah Carreon Clay-Battelle
2. Lea Colantonio Madonna
3. Alexis Zide Williamstown
4. Colleena Burdock Union
5. Kenadee Wayt Wheeling Central
6. McKenzie Newton Doddridge
Carreon's top time is over 0.2 seconds ahead of the rest of the field. She's also
the defending champion. Colantonio has the next best top time and five runs of 13.10
or better since April 30th. Zide is one of just two in the field with multiple runs
under 13 seconds, and she has three of them. Burdock has a better top time than
Zide. Wayt has the next best top time and series with three runs under 13.20. Newton
has the next best top time and next best series with a pair under 13.20. 8 in the
field have been under 13.20.
200 M 1. Hannah Carreon Clay-Battelle
2. Colleena Burdock Union
3. Ellie Gardner Williamstown
4. Kenadee Wayt Wheeling Central
5. Caroline Dundervil Charleston Catholic
6. Alexis Saunders Parkersburg Catholic
Carreon is the only one to have gone under 26 seconds and has the top time in the field
by nearly half a second. She's also the defending champion. Burdock has the next
best time and is the only other one with a pair of runs under 27 seconds. She was also
the runner-up last year. Gardner is the only other one to have gone under 27 seconds
and has three runs of 27.2 or better. Wayt has five runs better than any of the
remaining competitors' best. Dundervil only ran the open at the Regional, but went
under 27.5. I went with Saunders for the last spot, but there are probably 6 others
who legitimately have a shot. 3 in the field have been under 27 seconds. 7 have
been 27.50 or better. 13 have been under 28.
400 M 1. Nikkie Nolte Wheeling Central
2. McKenzie Moran St. Joseph
3. Breanna Ritz Magnolia
4. Emily Crosten Tucker
5. Payton Mullen Charleston Catholic
6. Sydney Moore Tucker
Nolte is the only one to have been under 61 seconds, and she's done it four times. Her
top time is over a second ahead of the field, and she's the defending champion. Moran
has the next best top time, and it was reported to me that she ran under 61 in a meet
earlier, but I never received results from that meet. Ritz has three runs under 63
seconds. Crosten has a better top time than Ritz with her sub-62 Regional run, but that
is her only run under 63. Mullen had a really strong run at the Gazette Relays. Moore
has the next best top time. 3 in the field have been under 62 seconds. 9 have been
under 63, but only 3 have done it more than once...and I didn't place one of them. She
could end up bolstering a relay.
800 M 1. Brianna Ritz Magnolia
2. Payton Mullen Charleston Catholic
3. Ireland Wayt Wheeling Central
4. Jordan Delaney Magnolia
5. Haley Moore Wirt
6. Amelia Sebok Sherman
Ritz has the top time coming in and a pair of runs under 2:28, and she won the event last
year. Mullen has the 2nd best time and is the only one in the field with 3 runs under
2:30. Wayt has the next best time and is one of just 3 with a pair of runs under 2:30.
Delaney had the 2nd best Regional time and was runner-up last year. Moore looked very
good at her Regional. Sebok has gone under 2:29 and has at least five runs under 2:33
and came off the 1600 well enough to get 4th last year.
1600 M 1. Jordan Delaney Magnolia
2. Madi Michels Buffalo
3. Amelia Sebok Sherman
4. Hannah Gacek Charleston Catholic
5. Piper McLaughlin Trinity
6. Caitlin Cowell Richwood
Delaney has the top time in the field by over 5 seconds, has three runs under 5:33 and
is the defending champion. Michels has the next best top time and has three runs of
5:35 or better. Sebok has also been under 5:30 and has a series that is very close
across the board to Michels. Gacek has three runs under 5:43. McLaughlin has a better
top time than Gacek and was 3rd last year. Cowell has five runs of 5:48 or better.
The front three appear to be pretty solid. It gets very wide open after that. Five
have been under 5:40. 13 have been under 5:50.
3200 M 1. Madi Michels Buffalo
2. Amelia Sebok Sherman
3. Jordan Delaney Magnolia
4. Hannah Gacek Charleston Catholic
5. Piper McLaughlin Trinity
6. Madison Frame Richwood
Michels has the top time in the field and has four runs under 12:00. Sebok's 2nd and
3rd best times are better than those of Michels, but Michels won the head-to-head
matchup at the Gazette Relays. Delaney ran under 12:00 at the OVAC Qualifying meet,
but her 2nd best run is only 12:40. Gacek has a pair of runs under 12:10 and four under
12:15. McLaughlin only has the 8th best top time, but does have a pair of runs under
12:25 and was the runner-up last year. Frame has the 5th best top time in the field.
This is another one that could go a lot of different ways. Only the top 3 have been
under 12:00. Only the top four have been under 12:15, but 8 have been under 12:20
and 9 have been under 12:25.
100 HH 1. Hannah Carreon Clay-Battelle
2. Lindsey Baker Wheeling Central
3. Rosa Plaugher Doddridge
4. Katelyn Gogan Tyler Consolidated
5. Elizabeth Nichols Tucker
6. Sydney Smith Buffalo
Carreon has the top time in the field by over 0.7 seconds, is the only one to have gone
under 15 seconds, has at least five runs better than anyone else's best, and is the
defending champion. Baker struggled with injury early in the season but it coming on
strong with her three best runs coming in her last two meets. Plaugher has a better
top time than Baker. Gogan has three runs under 16.50. Nicholas has a pair of runs
of 16.80 or better. Smith has three under 17.20. 3 in the field have been under 16
seconds. 7 have been under 17 seconds.
300 LH 1. Hannah Carreon Clay-Battelle
2. Lindsey Baker Wheeling Central
3. Mills Mullen Charleston Catholic
4. Abby Charles Doddridge
5. Kacey Evans South Harrison
6. Katelyn Gogan Tyler Consolidated
Carreon has three runs under 48 seconds. Baker has the top time in the field and beat
Carreon at the Regional and the OVAC Qualifier and is the defending champion. Mullen
has a pair of runs under 49 seconds. Charlest has a better top time than Mullen. Evans
is the only other one with a pair of runs under 50 seconds. Gogan has the next best
series among three that are separated by just 0.01 in their top times. 2 have been
under 48. 5 have been under 49. 8 have been under 50.
4x100 M 1. Wheeling Central
2. Tyler Consolidated
3. Williamstown
4. Charleston Catholic
5. Madonna
6. St. Marys
Wheeling Central is the only team to have gone under 51 seconds, and they've done it
twice. Tyler Consolidated is the only other team to have gone under 52 seconds. They
have the same unit that won the title last year. Williamstown has the next best time
and has five runs under 52.7 seconds. Charleston Catholic was just 0.06 behind
Williamstown at the Regional. Madonna is the only other team to have been under 53
seconds. St. Marys has the next best time and a pair of runs under 54 seconds. 9
teams have been under 54 seconds.
4x200 M 1. Wheeling Central
2. Madonna
3. Tucker
4. Williamstown
5. Magnolia
6. Charleston Catholic
Wheeling Central's top time is four seconds ahead of the field. They could get the
State Record in both the 4x100 and the 4x200. Madonna has a pair of runs under 1:52.
Tucker only had the 6th faster Regional time, but this is a loadable relay for them.
They could run the same unit that got 2nd last year. Williamstown has the 2nd best
top time, but that was with Ellie Gardner, and I'm assuming they leave her where she
is. Magnolia is the only other team to have been under 1:53. Charleston Catholic
is the only other team to have been under 1:54.
4x400 M 1. Wheeling Central
2. Charleston Catholic
3. Magnolia
4. Madonna
5. St. Marys
6. Doddridge
I think this gets very close after the first two. Wheeling Central can put together a
group that can run under 4:10, but they'll need to make a move to do it. I think they
do it. If they don't, it certainly opens the door for Charleston Catholic, who I think
can run under 4:15. I have the next 7 teams within 4 seconds of each other. Ultimately
I just went in order of what they've already ran. If Tucker were to fully load this
rather than the 4x200, I think they become the favorite for 3rd.
4x800 M 1. Magnolia
2. Charleston Catholic
3. Wirt
4. Pocahontas
5. Tucker
6. Buffalo
Magnolia has already gone 10:12. I think Charleston Catholic can put together a unit
that will make it a race. I have the next five teams within 6 seconds of each other.
Wirt appears to have the most potential. Pocahontas looks to be next in line. Tucker
has a 10:32 to their credit. They would have to make some moves to fully load this.
I'm not 100% they'll do it. They could go as high as 3rd, and they could drop out
completely. Buffalo is one of five that have been under 10:40. 8 teams have been under
10:50 and 9 have been under 11:00.
Shuttle 1. Doddridge
2. Williamstown
3. Madonna
4. Valley Wetzel
5. Tucker
6. South Harrison
Doddridge has the top time in the field by over a second, and they have four runs under
1:09. Williamstown is the only other team to have been under 1:08 and beat Doddridge
at the LKC meet. Madonna has a pair of runs under 1:09. Valley Wetzel is the only other
team to have gone under 1:09. Tucker is the only other team to have gone under 1:10.
South Harrison is the only other one to have been under 1:11.
H Jump 1. Bailey Estep Magnolia
2. Colleena Burdock Union
3. Jordan Rothwell Charleston Catholic
4. Mista Smarr Doddridge
5. Rachel Baker Valley Wetzel
6. Carson Hesson Williamstown
Estep has jumped 5'4 or better 3 times. Burdock has a 5'4 and a 5'3. Rothwell has a
pair of 5'2 jumps and at least five of 5'0, and she's the defending champion. Smarr
has an identical resume to Rothwell. Baker has a full series of 5'0 jumps and finished
2nd last year. Hesson is the only other one in the field to have cleared 5'0, and she
has four 4'10 jumps to go with it. 6 in the field have cleared 5'0. 15...yes 15...
have cleared 4'10. Clearing heights on the 1st attempt will be important.
P Vault 1. Ellie Gardner Williamstown
2. Chelsey Randolph Doddridge
3. Addison Ammons Clay-Battelle
4. Shaina Baker St. Marys
5. Savanah Ferguson Doddridge
6. Maggie Walters Parkersburg Catholic
Garnder is the only one to have gone higher than 10'0, which she's done at least five
teams with a top vault of 11'2. Randolph is the only other one to have been higher than
8'6, and she has a 10'0 vault and four 9'6 vaults. Ammons is the only other one to have
cleared 8'6. Baker and Ferguson both have a pair of 8'0 vaults and three 7'6 vaults. I
gave the 4th spot to Baker because her 8'0 vaults have come more recently, though neither
got it at their respective Regional. Walters has a pair of 8'0 vaults and a pair of 7'6
vaults. 8 in the field have cleared 8'0.
L Jump 1. Bailey Estep Magnolia
2. Colleena Burdock Union
3. McKenzie Newton Doddridge
4. Shaina Baker St. Marys
5. Alexis Saunders Parkersburg Catholic
6. Sydney Moore Tucker
Estep has the top jump in the field at 16'11. She has five jumps of at least 16'4.
Burdock has three 16'0 jumps and was the runner-up last year. Newton only has the
5th best top jump, but has five jumps of over 15'7. Baker has a 16'0 jump and two
others over 15'6. Saunders has three jumps of at least 15'6. Moore has a pair of
15'6 or better jumps and won the event last year. Four in the field have jumped
16'0, including one that I didn't place. 7 have jumped 15'10. 10 have jumped 15'6.
Shot 1. Sada Wright Gilmer
2. Whitney Jemison St. Marys
3. Beth Arnold Williamstown
4. Laura Taylor St. Marys
5. Carleigh Bolyard Tucker
6. Anna Zills Magnolia
Wright has the top throw in the field and is the only one to have topped 35' twice.
Jemison has the 2nd best top throw and a series that is right on the heels of Wright
in each of the first four spots. Arnold is the only other one to have thrown over
35'0, and her series is right on the heels of Jemison across the board. Taylor is
the only one in the field to have a full series of five 34'0 throws. Bolyard had the
3rd best Regional mark and has three throws of at least 33'0. Zills is the only other
one to have topped 33'0, but her 2nd best throw is over 2' shorter.
Discus 1. Melissa Cieslewski Williamstown
2. Laura Taylor St. Marys
3. Gabby Glaspell Doddridge
4. Rylee Cunningham Williamstown
5. Whitney Jemison St. Marys
6. Sada Wright Gilmer
Cieslewski has the best series. She's the only one with three 110' throws, and she
has four. Taylor has the best top throw in the group and has five throws of at least
108'0. Glaspell is one of just four with three throws of 105', and she has four.
Cunningham is also one of four with three throws of 105', and she also has four of them.
Jemison has a better top throw than Cunningham by nearly 4' but has only topped 100'
twice. Wright has the 3rd best top throw (and only 5" behind the leader), which she
achieved at the Regional, but her 2nd best throw is over 12' shorter. These six have
all thrown at least 109'0. No one else has been further than 97'0.
