100 M 1. Kayla Haywood Bridgeport
2. McKenna Smith Bridgeport
3. Emilee Henry Herbert Hoover
4. Josie Raines Roane
5. Tyra Joplin Mingo Central
6. Brooke Snyder Frankfort
Haywood is the defending champion and has been very fast all season. Smith was absolutely
dominant early in the season, but a late season injury appears to have hampered her
explosiveness a bit. I'm betting another week of healing gets her back up to 2nd. Henry
actually had the fastest regional time of the three. Raines has come on late in the
season, with her five best runs coming in May. Joplin was 4th a year ago and is among
the 7 to have gone under 13 seconds. Snyder was 3rd last year and has also been under 13.
7 in the field have been under 13. Of those 7, all have been under 13.05 at least twice.
Of these 7, all have been under 13.10 at least three times. Of these 7, all have been under
13.20 four times. 10 in the field have been under 13.20 at least once.
200 M 1. Kayla Haywood Bridgeport
2. McKenna Smith Bridgeport
3. Emilee Henry Herbert Hoover
4. Josie Raines Roane
5. Brooke Snyder Frankfort
6. Alex Arnott Oak Glen
Again, Haywood is the defending champion, and again Smith was dominant early in the season.
Henry is the only other one in the field to have gone under 26 seconds, and like in the
100, she had the best Regional mark in the field. Raines has four runs under 27 seconds.
Snyder has a pair of runs under 27 seconds. No one else has been under 27, and Arnott
is the only on that has a pair of runs at 27.20 or better.
400 M 1. McKenna Smith Bridgeport
2. Emilee Henry Herbert Hoover
3. Avery Thrush Robert C. Byrd
4. Hailey Miller Ravenswood
5. Ashley Griffin Berkeley Springs
6. Estella Lambert Petersburg
Smith is the defending champion and the only one in the field to have gone under 60
seconds. Despite her late season ailments, she still turned in the fastest regional
time. Henry is the only other one in the field to have been under 61 seconds more
than once, and she's done it three times. In addition, she has top end speed that
exceeds all but Smith. Thrush has the 2nd best time in the group. Miller has one
run under 61 seconds and at least five under 61.8. Griffin has three runs under 61.7
and was the runner-up last year. Lambert has a pair of runs under 61.4. Five in the
field have been under 61. 8 in the field have been under 62. No one else has been
under 63.
800 M 1. Adriana Cook Independence
2. Hailey Miller Ravenswood
3. Avery Thrush Robert C. Byrd
4. Kinsey Reed Berkeley Springs
5. Danielle Haynes Berkeley Springs
6. Kate Golinsky Braxton
Cook only has the 2nd best time and doesn't have the best series, but she's plenty
capable and was the runner-up last year with a lesser resume than she has this year.
Miller has the top time and the top series and the 400 speed to back it up. Thrush
is another that has very good 400 speed. All three of these could go under 2:25.
Reed has the next best time in the field. Haynes is coming on late in the season and
starting to regain the form of prior years. Golinsky has the 5th best time nad 4th best
series in the field. I do think it's entirely possible that Berkeley Spring pulls
Reed from this event. If they do, my next in line is Clarissa Carnell of Keyser.
1600 M 1. Adriana Cook Independence
2. Kinsey Reed Berkeley Springs
3. Stephanie Golden Berkeley Springs
4. Danielle Haynes Berkeley Springs
5. Taylor Treadway Ravenswood
6. Taylor Trowbridge North Marion
Cook has the top time in the field and is the only one with a pair of runs under 5:30.
Reed is the only other one to have gone under 5:30. Golden has three runs at 5:36 or
better. Haynes has a pair of runs under 5:40 and, as stated in the 800, is coming on
late in the season. Treadway has the 4th best top time in the field at 5:33, but that's
her best run by 9 seconds. Trowbridge is the only other one to have been under 5:40 and
was 4th last year. She's returning to form after injury as well.
3200 M 1. Kinsey Reed Berkeley Springs
2. Adriana Cook Independence
3. Taylor Treadway Ravenswood
4. Jessica Melvin Philip Barbour
5. Julianna Butcher Frankfort
6. Amanda Lupton Berkeley Springs
Reed has the top time in the field by 18 seconds and is the only one to have been under
12:00 twice. Cook has gone 11:58, has only run the event 3 times, and has been pretty
much running solo in each, so she's definitely a threat. Treadway has the 3rd best time
in the field and has the next best series. She's actually the only one of just two with
five runs under 12:30. Melvin has the next best time and is the other one who has five
runs under 12:30. Butcher doesn't have the next best time, but she has a way of stepping
forward in big meets. Lupton has the 5th best top time in the field, but it's her best
time by 35 seconds. 8 in the field have been under 12:30.
100 HH 1. Elizabeth Messer Nicholas
2. Jenna Alonge Bridgeport
3. Janessa Adams Ritchie
4. Madison Haught North Marion
5. Jaymie Snider Grafton
6. Arianna Crawford Nicholas
Messer is the only one to have been under 16 seconds, and she's done it at least 5 times.
She is over 0.7 seconds ahead of the field. Alonge has four runs better than anyone else's
best. Adams is the only other one to have been under 16.70. Haught and Snider have the
next best series. Crawford has the 4th best top time, but it's her best by over 0.5 seconds.
300 LH 1. Jenna Alonge Bridgeport
2. Cecelia Napier Keyser
3. McKenzi Fisher North Marion
4. Janessa Adams Ritchie
5. Samantha Kirk Ritchie
6. Micayla Paugh Keyser
Alonge only has the 3rd best top time, but is the only one to have been under 49 seconds
twice. She's also the defending champion. Napier has the top time in the field and
three runs under 50. Fisher has the end best time in the field and 4 runs under 50.
Adams and Kirk have been close all season. Kirk has the better top time and a slightly
better series, but Adams won the Regional race and was runner-up last year. No one
else has been under 50 seconds. Paugh has the next best series.
4x100 M 1. Bridgeport
2. Nicholas
3. North Marion
4. Keyser
5. Roane
6. Bluefield
Bridgeport has the top time in the field and three runs better than anyone else's best.
Nicholas is the only other team to have been under 52 seconds. North Marion has the next
best time. Keyser has been under 52.7 three times. Roane has the 4th best top time.
Bluefield has a pair of runs under 53 seconds. No one else has been under 53 sceonds.
4x200 M 1. Keyser
2. Bridgeport
3. Liberty Harrison
4. North Marion
5. Nicholas
6. Bluefield
Keyser has the top time in the field by nearly 1.5 seconds. They have four runs better
than anyone else's best. Bridgeport is the only other team to have been under 1:50.
Liberty is the only other team to have been under 1:51. They'll have to do their work
from the first heat, though. North Marion had the 3rd best regional run. Nicholas has
the 4th best time and a pair of runs under 1:52. Bluefield has two runs better than
anyone else's best of the remaining teams. 7 teams have been under 1:53.
4x400 M 1. Keyser
2. Berkeley Springs
3. North Marion
4. Oak Glen
5. Ritchie
6. Robert C. Byrd
Keyser has the top time in the field by 5 seconds. I don't know if they can go faster or not,
but I don't think they'll have to. Berkeley Springs has the potential to be the closest. I
believe that they and North Marion can run under 4:15. Oak Glen can run in the 4:17
range. Ritchie, Robert C.Byrd, and Herbert Hoover are likely to battle for the final spots.
I actually have Robert C. Byrd with slightly better potential, but if Avery Thrush really
goes after the 800, it could take its toll.
4x800 M 1. Berkeley Springs
2. Robert C. Byrd
3. Keyser
4. Oak Glen
5. North Marion
6. Philip Barbour
Berkeley Springs, fully loaded, can go under 10:10. I don't think anyone else can get
there. I have the next three within 2 seconds of each other, but again I have Robert
C. Byrd wit the most upward potential. I have Keyser and Oak Glen equal, but I gave the
nod to Keyser since they've been faster. I have North Marion and Philip Barbour with
equal potential as well, and I went with North Marion since they've been faster.
Shuttle 1. Nicholas
2. North Marion
3. Weir
4. Liberty Harrison
5. Ritchie
6. Bridgeport
Nicholas is the defending champion with all members returning. They have the top time
by over a second and have four runs better than anyone else's best. North Maroin has a
pair of runs under 1:08. Weir is the only other team to have been under 1:10, and
they've done it three times. Liberty Harrison has a pair of runs under 1:11 and at
least 3 more under 1:12. Ritchie and Bridgeport have each run faster than Liberty
Harrison, with Bridgeport having a slightly better top time. These three should be very
close.
H Jump 1. Bailey Aab Herbert Hoover
2. Olivia Vanoy Ritchie
3. Ariel Allen Liberty Harrison
4. Hannah Phillips Liberty Harrison
5. Bethany Stern Liberty Harrison
6. Emily Hershberger Fairmont Senior
Aab is the only one to have been higher than 5'0, and she's done it twice. She's also
one of just two in the field to have cleared 5'0 five times. Vanoy is the other to have
cleared 5'0 five times. Allen, Phillips, and Stern each have multiple jumps of 5'0.
Allen has four of them, with three coming in her last three meets. Phillips and Stern
have done it three times each. Hershberger is the only other one to have more than one
5'0 clearance. 7 in the field have cleared 5'0. 10 have cleared 4'10.
P Vault 1. Skyla Haught North Marion
2. Sarah Cokeley Ritchie
3. Wylie Everly Liberty Harrison
4. Micayla Paugh Keyser
5. Jenna Love Bridgeport
6. Taylor Marsh Herbert Hoover
Haught is one of just two to have cleared 9'0. She has a pair of 8'6 vaults to go with
her 9'0 vault. She's the defending champion, and her top two jumps have come in her last
two meets. Cokeley is the other 9'0 vaulter, and she's done it twice. She has a trio
of 8'6 vaults to go with it. However, she hasn't cleared 8'6 since 4/24. Everly has
three 8'0 clearances. Paugh has an 8'0 and three 7'6 vaults. Love has an 8'0 vault and
a 7'6 vault. Marsh has four 7'6 vaults. There are only 7 competitors in the event.
L Jump 1. Josie Raines Roane
2. Kayla Haywood Bridgeport
3. Lydia Philogene Liberty Raleigh
4. Elizabeth Messer Nicholas
5. Katie Rollins Ritchie
6. Dericka Blankenship Nicholas
Raines has a pair of 17'0 jumps. Haywood does as well. Haywood is the defending champion.
Raines has a slightly better overall series. Raines jumped 17'1 in a non-jumper haven,
so she gets the nod. Philogene has a pair of jumps over 16'0. Messer has a 15'9 has the
next best overall series. Rollins has a pair of jumps of 1'58 or better. Blankenship
has three jumps over 15'0. 13 in the field have jumped at least 15'0. 9 jumped jumped
15'0 at least twice. 8 have jumped 15'9 at least 3 times, but only three have done it
four times.
Shot 1. Kasey Neville Philip Barbour
2. Kaitlin Bush Roane
3. Kiana Swann Bridgeport
4. Mica Mathis Wayne
5. Presley Tuttle North Marion
6. Kasinda King Frankfort
Neville has the top throw in the field and is one of just two with a pair off 33'0 throws.
Bush is the other with a pair of 33'0 throws. Those two are also the only ones with a
series of five 32'0 vaults. Swann has the 2nd best top throw but has only one other throw
of 32'0. Mathis has a 33'0 throw, a 32 and three 31's. Tuttle has a 33'0 throw, and it
happened at the regional, but she has only one other 31'0 throw on the books. King
doesn't have any 32'0 throws, but she is one of just five with four 31'0 throws. 8 in
the field have thrown 32'0 and 12 have thrown 31'0. Only four have multiple 32'0 throws.
Only 6 have three 31'0 throws.
Discus 1. Hannah McCall Bridgeport
2. Emmy Delekta Oak Glen
3. Kiana Swann Bridgeport
4. Megan Testament Independence
5. Shelby Helmick Braxton
6. Bridget Bemis Oak Glen
McCall has the 2nd best top throw and easily the best series. She's the only one to
have five 100' throws. Delekta has four 100' throws. Swann has the top throw in the
field at 111'7, but she has only one other 100' throw to accompany it. Testament has
the next best throw and the next best series, and her top 4 throws have been in her last
four meets. Helmick has come on late with her top 3 throws coming in her last three meets
with each going further than the last. Bemis has a 100' throw and the next best series,
and her 100' toss occurred at her Regional Meet. 6 in the field have thrown 100'. Only
three have done it more thanonce. However, 7 have thrown at least 96'0 twice.
