Class A Boys Individual Event Predictions

100 M	1. Jordan Tucker	Buffalo
	2. Yale Wetzel Magnolia
	3. Jared Kacor Magnolia
	4. Mathew Zlatkind	Williamstown
	5. Brandon Smith	Doddridge
	6. David Gray St. Marys
This is quite the mess. The top 6 guys have best times within 0.08 of each other.
Tucker is the only one with at least 3 runs under 11.50. He has 4. Wetzel has a
pair of 11.45's and an 11.50. Kacor aslo has a pair of 11.45's. Zlatkind has an
11.47 and an 11.50. Smith actually ties for the top time with an 11.39 and has
another run under 11.50. But he's the only one of the group who runs the 400 that
morning, and that does have an impact. Gray matches Smith with a top time of
11.39, but his 2nd best run is an 11.70. Those six have all run under 11.50.
7 have been under 11.60. 10 have been under 11.70.

200 M	1. Jordan Tucker	Buffalo
	2. Trace Hart Williamstown
	3. Mathew Zlatkind	Williamstown
	4. Zach Hall Cameron
	5. David Beazel	Bishop Donahue
	6. Marquise Jeter	Madonna
Tucker has the best time in the field by over 0.4 seconds. He has two runs under
23.20. Hart has a pair of runs under 23.50. Zlatkind has a 23.51 and beat Hart
at the LKC championships. Hall has two runs under 23.60. Beazel actually has the
2nd best top time in the group, but he only has two runs under 24 seconds. Jeter
has three runs under 23.75. 8 in the field have been under 23.60.

400 M	1. Zach Cottrill	Doddridge
	2. Phillip Mallory	Charleston Catholic
	3. Brandon Smith	Doddridge
	4. Chris Freeman	Tucker
	5. David Beazel	Bishop Donahue
	6. Dakota Clere	Meadow Bridge
Cottrill gets the nod over Mallory based on his Regional win. The both have a pair
of runs under 52 seconds while no one else has any. Smith has 3 runs under 52.50
while no one else has more than one. Freeman has a better top time than Smith.
Beazel and Clere are the only others to have been under 53 seconds. 10 in the field
have been under 53.50.

800 M	1. Isaiah Robinson	Buffalo
	2. Logan Kerby Wirt
	3. Phillip Mallory	Charleston Catholic
	4. Ian Nichols Tucker
	5. Brandon Lively	Doddridge
	6. Dakota Clere	Meadow Bridge
Robinson has the top time in the group by over 3 seconds. He has four runs better
than anyone else's best. Kerby has a pair of runs under 2:06. Mallory only ran
the open once, and it was his 2:05 at the Regional. Nichols has a pair of 2:06
runs and popped a 2:03 at the State Meet last year. Lively has a 2:06 run as does
Clere. Clere actually has the 4th best time in the field, but his 2:06 is his only
run under 2:11. 6 have been under 2:06.50. No one else has been under 2:08. 3
others have run 2:08.

1600 M	1. Logan Kerby Wirt
	2. Hayden Harrison	Buffalo
	3. Hunter Riffle	Doddridge
	4. Isaiah Robinson	Buffalo
	5. Soren Shade Magnolia
	6. Glen McMillan	Wirt
This one should be a lot of fun. Only 6 seconds separates 1st from 6th. Less than
2 seconds separates the top 4 times if you count Shade's 4:38 DQ run at the OVAC
Championships. Kerby has the 3rd best time in the field and has the 800 speed to
win it. Harrison beat Kerby at the Regional. Riffle has the best top time in the
group and is the only one with a pair of runs under 4:40. But Harrison and Kerby
beat him at the Regional. Robinson only has the 5th best time, but he's only run
it twice. He may be the most likely to run a 4:30. Shade has an official 4:41
and an unofficial 4:38. These five could finish any which way. McMillan's top time
is only just over a second off Robinson's so he could easily move up the field.
McMillan has been under 4:43. Non one else has been under 4:47. Only two others
have been under 4:50.

3200 M	1. Hunter Riffle	Doddridge
	2. Hayden Harrison	Buffalo
	3. Glenn McMillan	Wirt
	4. Brandon Lively	Doddridge
	5. Jesse Cannady	Sherman
	6. Chandler Antill	Williamstown
Riffle and Harrison have had two great battles and on both occasions, Riffle came out
on top. They both have a pair of runs under 9:50 while no one else has been under
10:10. McMillan's 10:10 is the next best time by nearly 13 seconds. Lively has the
next best time by nearly 11 seconds. Cannady has the next best time by 13 seconds.
Antill has the next best time by just 3 seconds as there are 4 guys within 7 seconds
of each other fighting for 6th. 10 in the field have been under 11:00.

110 HH	1. Gabe Garrison	Buffalo
	2. Cody Wolfe St. Marys
	3. Mitchell Mason	Tucker
	4. Zach Cottrill	Doddridge
	5. Austin Raines	Williamstown
	6. Cody Sheppard	Buffalo
Garrison ties for the best top time in the group and had the best Regional run. Wolfe
is the only one with more than one run under 16.50, but he'll have run the 300's in the
morning session. Mason has a pair of runs under 16.60. There is a possibility that
Tucker will pull Mason from this to add him to a relay. Cottrill ties Garrison for the
best top time and has a series that basically matches Wolfe's. But he'll have already
done the 400, Long Jump, and High Jump in the morning session. Raines has come on late
and beat Cottrill at the Regional. The same is true for Sheppard. In both cases, they
ran under 16.70 in their Regional, but that is their only runs under 17 seconds. 7 in
the field have been under 16.70. 9 have been under 17 seconds.

300 IH	1. Jarod Kacor Magnolia
	2. Phillip Mallory	Charleston Catholic
	3. Cody Sheppard	Buffalo
	4. Levi Mowery Richwood
	5. Mitchell Mason	Tucker
	6. Garrett Devericks	Doddridge
Kacor has the top time in the field by over a second and has four runs better than
anyone else's best. Mallory has 4 runs under 43 seconds. Sheppard has the 2nd best
top time in the field and beat Mallory at the Regional. That was his only run under
44 seconds, though. Mowery has one run under 43 seconds and two others under 44.
Mason's only run was at the Regional. I think he's dangerous, but it's also quite
possible that they pull him from this event to add him to a relay. Devericks has three
runs under 44 seconds. No one else remaining has more than 1. 9 in the field have
been under 44 seconds. 12 have been under 44.25.

4x100 M	1. Magnolia
	2. Williamstown
	3. Doddridge
	4. Madonna
	5. St. Marys
	6. Pendleton
Magnolia has the top time in the field and is the only team to break 45 twice.
Williamstown had the top Regional time and a better overall series than Magnolia.
Doddridge is the only other team to have been under 46 seconds, and they've done it
three times. They could also add Brandom Smith to this lineup as he has an open
event. Madonna easily has the next best time and has three runs better than any
remaining team's best. St. Marys and Pendleton have 3 runs each under 47. 7 in the
field have been under 47 seconds. 10 have been under 47.50.

4x200 M	1. Williamstown
	2. Doddridge
	3. Magnolia
	4. Madonna
	5. Buffalo
	6. South Harrison
Williamstown had the top regional time and the best series in the field. Doddridge
has the best top time and the only team to have gone under 1:34. Magnolia is the
only other team to have been under 1:35. Madonna and Buffalo are very close with
Madonna's best time beating Buffalo's by just 0.02. Madonna has run in that area
twice. Buffalo will have to do their damage from the first heat. South Harrison
has the next best time in the field, but there are 5 more teams within 0.7 seconds
of them. If Tucker adds Ian Nichols and Mitchell Mason to this unit, they'll
certainly be a scoring threat. 11 teams have been under 1:37.

4x400 M	1. Williamstown
	2. Tucker
	3. Charleston Catholic
	4. Wirt
	5. Doddridge
	6. Cameron
This one is interesting. There are a number of ways this can go. I have Williamstown
being able to go 3:35. I think Trace Hart gets added to this lineup. I think Tucker
will drop Chris Freeman from the 200 and add him here. I think that puts them in the
3:36 range. I have Charleston Catholic at 3:39, but if they pull Phillip Mallory from
one of his open events and add him here, they may win the event as I think that could
put them in the 3:34 range. Wirt and Doddridge can both run under 3:40. Doddridge
could add Brandon Smith to this lineup, and that could move them into top 3 contention.
I have Cameron, Wahama, and Gilmer very close. I'm going with Cameron simply because
they've shown they can do it. I had Wahama at the best potential of the three. And
here's a darkhorse for you. Greenbrier West can run a 3:40. They qualified at 4:36,
but if you look at their 4x200 lineup, they can use that group in the 4x400 and quite
possibly take a place.

4x800 M	1. Buffalo
	2. Charleston Catholic
	3. Wirt
	4. Tucker
	5. Williamstown
	6. Doddridge
This one is interesting as well. I think Buffalo can go 8:22 or so. The only other
team that can approach that is Charleston Catholic, and they can only do it if Phillip
Mallory drops an open event to run this. He's looking at top 3 finishes in all four
events, so it's hard to take him out. I'm going on the assumption that they don't.
Wirt can run under 8:40. Tucker, Williamstown, and Doddridge can run around 8:40.
I think Tucker adds Chris Freeman, Williamstown may add Chandler Antill. I gave Tucker
the nod because they've been faster thus far. Williamstown has been faster than
Doddridge.

Shuttle	1. Buffalo
	2. Williamstown
	3. Tucker
	4. Greenbrier West
	5. St. Marys
	6. Pocahontas
Buffalo has the top time by almost a second. They're the only team to have been
under 1:02. Williamstown and Tucker have been under 1:03. The next three are the
only other ones to have been under 1:04. Two other teams have been under 1:05.

H Jump	1. Ryan Slider Calhoun
	2. Stephen Simmons	Pocahontas
	3. Zach Cottrill	Doddridge
	4. Cory Cox Greenbrier West
	5. Tucker Cain Valley Wetzel
	6. Noah Aviles Gilmer
Slider has the only clearance higher than 6'2 with his 6'3. He has a 6'2 to go with
it. Simmons has four 6'0 jumps including two in recent meets. Cottrill has the
most 6'2 clearances in the field with 3 and cleared that height at the Gazette Relays.
Cox has only jumped in 2 meets that I've seen, but cleared 6'1 in one of them. Cain
and Aviles have the only other 6'0 clearances in the field. Aviles has done it twice
but missed time with an injury and the Regional was his first meet back, and he only
got 5'8.

P Vault	1. Dyllon Hayes	Doddridge
	2. Phillip Mallory	Charleston Catholic
	3. Dalton George	Williamstown
	4. Tucker Cain Valley Wetzel
	5. Scotty Myer Doddridge
	6. Austin Raines	Williamstown
Hayes is the only one to have gone higher than 13'0, and he has a 14'0 and three
13'6 vaults. Mallory is the only other one to have cleared 13'0, but that's his
only showing over 12'0. George has a pair of 12'6 vaults. Cain got 12'7 at the
regional, but that is his only vault over 11'6. Myer has 4 vaults of 11'6. Raines
has an 11'6 and an 11'0. 7 in the field have cleared 11'6. 10 have cleared 11'0.

L Jump	1. Marcello Biondillo	Madonna
	2. Zach Cottrill	Doddridge
	3. Yale Wetzel Magnolia
	4. Kyler Burgess	St. Joseph
	5. Tim Weekley Magnolia
	6. Jarret Hockenberry	Clay-Battelle
Biondillo has the top jump in the field and is the only one to have topped 20' twice.
Cottrill has the 2nd best top jump and the best series in the field. Wetzel has a
20' jump and two others over 19'3. Burgess has a 20' jump and two others over 19',
and he beat Cottrill at the Regional. Weekley's first meet of the season was the
regional, and he hit 19'4 1/2. He's historically been a strong jumper, so I was
afraid to leave him out. Hockenberry only has the 8th best top jump in the field
but is one of just five with two 19' jumps. 10 in the field have surpassed 19'.

Shot	1. Nathan Stout	Gilmer
	2. Jacob Highley	Valley Wetzel
	3. Zack Killingsworth	Hannan
	4. Thomas Watkins	Wheeling Central
	5. Hunter Ashley	Gilmer
	6. Isaac Britton	Doddridge
Stout has the top throw in the field by over 3'. He's the only one to have gone past
50', and he's done it at least five times. Highly is the only other one to have
thrown 48'. Killingsworth is the only other one to have thrown 47' and he has a pair
of 46' throws to go with it. Watkins has a 46' throw and a 44' throw. Ashley has a
45' and a pair of 44's. Britton has a 45' and four 44's, but of his five best throws,
only one has been after April 8th. Those six have thrown 45'. No one else has
thrown further than 43'1.

Discus	1. Isaac Britton	Doddridge
	2. Nathan Stout	Gilmer
	3. Hunter Ashley	Gilmer
	4. Devin Rose Pocahontas
	5. Cody Smith Williamstown
	6. Thomas Watkins	Wheeling Central
Britton has four throws in the 159's. Stout has the top throw in the group with a
160' toss and has a couple 152's to go with it. Ashley hit 150' at his Regional
and has at least four others over 140'. I've only seen two meets for Rose, but he
threw 140' at his Regional. His other was a 125'. Smith threw 137' at his Regional,
but like Rose, his next best is 125'. Watkins is one of just two others with more
than one throw over 120', and he has 3 of them. 12 have thrown 120' at some point
during the season.
