2. Mykera Days Martinsburg
3. Anacia Hines St. Albans
4. Devyn Hosby Washington
5. Nakysha McGhee Wheeling Park
6. Knisha Baldwin Morgantown
Trott has the best time in the field by 0.17 seconds. 8 in the field have multiple
runs under 13 seconds.
200 M 1. Natasha Trott Morgantown
2. Devyn Hosby Washington
3. Mykera Days Martinsburg
4. Knisha Baldwin Morgantown
5. Anacia Hines St. Albans
6. Safiyyah Mitchell Huntington
Trott has the best time, the best series, and was runner-up last year. Days is the
only other one to have been under 26 seconds, but her 25.96 is her only FAT run under
27 seconds. 13 in the field have been under 27 seconds.
400 M 1. Devyn Hosby Washington
2. Ashley Haught John Marshall
3. Rhonda Rogombe Washington
4. Ashley Grove Wheeling Park
5. Jakeya Perrin Cabell Midland
6. Erica Haught John Marshall
Hosby has the top time in the field and a pair of runs under 59 seconds. Haught has
run under 58 seconds and also has a pair of runs under 60 seconds. Rogombe was 3rd
last year and has cracked the 60 second mark in each of her last two meets. Grove is
one of only 3 with 3 runs under 60 seconds. In all, 8 have been under 60. 11 have
have been under 61.
800 M 1. Barkley Castro Winfield
2. Erica Haught John Marshall
3. Allison Lynch Morgantown
4. Sydney Dotson University
5. Andrea Porter Point Pleasant
6. Taylor Harwood Hampshire
Castro is the only have to have bettered 2:20. Haught is the only other one to have
been under 2:22. 7 have run under 2:26. One to watch is Spring Valley's Kassidy
Lemons. She was 6th last year with a 2:21.92. I only have 2 runs on file for her
this year, and both were over 2:30. However, I saw hardly any Spring Valley results
on the season.
1600 M 1. Amelia Paladino University
2. Brynn Harshbarger Morgantown
3. Peyton Panger Capital
4. Emily Schwendiman Hurricane
5. Abby Colbert Jefferson
6. Kaitlyn Workman Preston
This one should be a lot of fun. Paladino will be shooting for the State Meet
Record. There are 5 girls that have run 5:15 or better. There are 8 that have run
5:22 or better.
3200 M 1. Amelia Paladino University
2. Brynn Harshbarger Morgantown
3. Sydney Pineault Morgantown
4. Abby Colbert Jefferson
5. Emily Schwendiman Hurricane
6. Peyton Panger Capital
This one should be great. Paladino is the pretty solid favorite. Harshbarger ran
an early 11:00. There are are 4 that have run between 11:14 and 11:18. Only 3.8
seconds separates them. Then you throw in last year's runner-up, Kaitlyn Workman,
and another runner who has been under 11:30 and you have a great field.
100 HH 1. Emily Godwin Buckhannon-Upshur
2. Tori Derrow John Marshall
3. Anacia Hines St. Albans
4. Makenzi Niebergall Cabell Midland
5. Tamara Bumgardner Wheeling Park
6. Lauren Cvechko Buckhannon-Upshur
Godwin was a foregone conclusion last year. This year, that's not so. Derrow
actually has the only sub-15 second run this year. Godwin does have the better
overall series, and it should be noted that Derrow's sub-15 run came in a race in
which pretty much the entire field ran significantly faster than they had before.
I suspect a pretty good tailwind. Hoever, she backed it up with two excellent runs
at the Regional Meet. Hines has more runs under 15.50 than Derrow. 8 in the field
have been under 16 seconds and two more just over it.
300 LH 1. Emily Godwin Buckhannon-Upshur
2. Josee Erlandson Winfield
3. Lauren Cvechko Buckhannon-Upshur
4. Sarah Bever Parkersburg
5. Lyndsey Thompson Shady Spring
6. Ali Kominski Shady Spring
Gowdin has the only sub-46 run in the group and has a pair of them. She also has 4
runs better than anyone else's best. Erlandson has the only other sub-47 in the
bunch. Cvechko has a pair of runs under 48. 8 in the field have been under 49
seconds. 13 have been under 50.
4x100 M 1. Morgantown
2. Winfield
3. Wheeling Park
4. Martinsburg
5. Jefferson
6. Hedgesville
Winfield has the fastest time. Morgantown is the only one with 2 runs under 50
seconds, and they're running with the same crew that set a State Meet Record last
year. Those two are the only teams to have been under 50. Wheeling Park is the
only other one to have been under 51.
4x200 M 1. Winfield
2. Wheeling Park
3. Morgantown
4. Jefferson
5. Hedgesville
6. Greenbrier East
Wheeling Park has the top time in the field. Winfield is the only team with 2 runs
under 1:46. Morgantown is the defending champion using the same lineup from last
year that nearly set a State Meet Record. 10 teams have been under 1:50.
4x400 M 1. Washington
2. Greenbrier East
3. Wheeling Park
4. John Marshall
5. Winfield
6. University
Washington only has the 3rd best time in the bunch, but I think they have the most
upward potential. I could see any of the front four winning this thing. 7 in the
field have been under 4:15.
4x800 M 1. Morgantown
2. University
3. Hurricane
4. Jefferson
5. Winfield
6. Parkersburg
The front four could have a pretty good race, but I think Morgantown will have too
much depth for the others to deal with. Winfield could get up in the mix as well.
Shuttle 1. Buckhannon-Upshur
2. Wheeling Park
3. Cabell Midland
4. John Marshall
5. Huntington
6. Winfield
Buckhannon-Upshur is the team to beat. Their Regional run of 1:05.10 is over a
second faster than anyone else. Wheeling Park have been consistently very fast.
The top 6 have all been under 1:07. Only Buckhannon-Upshur has been under 1:06.
H Jump 1. Emily Godwin Buckhannon-Upshur
2. Rhonda Rogombe Washington
3. Sarah Bever Parkersburg
4. Tori Derrow John Marshall
5. Haley Holloway Morgantown
5. Kaylee Dickinson Shady Spring
Godwin is the only one higher than 5'6. She has three 5'9 jumps. Rogombe and Derrow
have 5'6 jumps. Bever has more 5'4 clearances than anyone but Godwin. 10 in the
field have cleared 5'2.
P Vault 1. Rebekah Lafata Morgantown
2. Caysie Irving Washington
3. Jessica Hamrick Parkersburg South
4. Sara Pifer Washington
5. Courtney Hanshew Hedgesville
6. Lauren London Hurricane
Lafata is the only one in the field with multiple 11'0 vaults. She has the most 10'6
clearances in the field. However, she didn't get 10'6 at her Conference or Regional
Meets. Irving has the only other 11'0 clearance. Hamrick has a trio of 10'6 vaults,
all coming at her Conference and Regional Meets, and in which she beat Lafata all
three times. 5 in the field have cleared 10'0.
L Jump 1. Emily Godwin Buckhannon-Upshur
2. Rebekah Lafata Morgantown
3. Morgan Hensley Huntington
4. Maddie McClintic Greenbrier East
5. Cassidy Scott Hedgesville
6. Lauren Cvechko Buckhannon-Upshur
Godwin has 4 jumps that exceed 17'0. No one else has hit that mark. Lafata, Scott,
and McClintic have a paire of 16'0 jumps (Lafata has 3).
Shot 1. Mackenzie Leigh Buckhannon-Upshur
2. Mercedes Dowell Buckhannon-Upshur
3. Jaida Walker Martinsburg
4. Rosa Morris Morgantown
5. Megan Wilfong Buckhannon-Upshur
6. Emily Winters John Marshall
Leigh has a 41'9 throw to her credit. Her 5th best throw is better than anyone
else's best. Dowell gets the nod over Walker due to having a better series. 6 in
the field have thrown over 37'. 8 have thrown over 36'.
Discus 1. Mackenzie Leigh Buckhannon-Upshur
2. Abby Watson Hurricane
3. Whitney McAtee Parkersburg
4. Mercedes Dowell Buckhannon-Upshur
5. Lillie Jacobs George Washington
6. Alicia Marshall Shady Spring
Leigh has the only 130' throw in the group with her 137'8. She has 4 throws better
than anyone else's best. Watson has three throws over 120'. McAtee and Dowell
have 5 throws over 115', which Watson does not have. 7 have thrown 110'. No one
else has been past 104'.
