Class AA Boys Individual Event Predictions

100 M	1. Brandon Franklin	Liberty Harrison
	2. Jacob Rollo Sherman
	3. Shawn Burns Weir
	4. Nate Taylor Tyler Consolidated
	5. Brendan Kacor	Magnolia
	6. Dale Mitchell	PikeView
Franklin has the best top time and the best series. Rollo, however, averages being behind
Franklin by 0.02 in their five best times, so if coud go either way. Taylor has a better
series than Burns, but Burns just beat him at the Regional. Kacor has the next best series.
Mitchell gets the nod over Adam Whitt for the same reason.

200 M	1. Brandon Franklin	Liberty Harrison
	2. Jacob Rollo Sherman
	3. Nate Taylor Tyler Consolidated
	4. Shawn Burns Weir
	5. Gene Hamrick	Liberty Harrison
	6. Dale Mitchell	PikeView
This should again be a battle between Franklin and Rollo. Franklin's edge appears to be a
little bigger in this event. Taylor joins those two as the only runners with a full series
of runs under 23 seconds. No one else has more than two. Burns has two. No one else has
been there. Hamrick and Mitchell each have a pair of 23.29 runs. No one else has been
under 23.40.

400 M	1. Brandon Franklin	Liberty Harrison
	2. Derek Burch Oak Glen
	3. Gene Hamrick	Liberty Harrison
	4. Nate Taylor Tyler Consolidated
	5. Josie Pullen	Poca
	6. Zach Canterbury	Point Pleasant
Franklin and Burch are the only ones to have been under 50 seconds. Franklin has five runs
under 50.6. Burch won the event last year. Hamrick has four runs unde 51 seconds and a
better series than Burch. Taylor got 2nd in the event last year and has four runs under 52
seconds. Pullen had the 4th best Regional time. Canterbury has the next best series.
Andrew Ferguson has a 51.10 run, but his second best run was his regional run of 52.92.
Trey Chapman has five runs between 52.38 and 52.51.

800 M	1. Riley Freeman	Philip Barbour
	2. Taven Rohrbaugh	Keyser
	3. Brian Britton	Ritchie
	4. Chase Nelson	Scott
	5. Cody Masters	Ritchie
	6. Andrew Ferguson	Grafton
This one's a mess. Freeman has a pair of runs that are over a second faster than anyone
else, but he had to rely on an At-Large bid to get into the meet. Rohrbaugh has the 2nd
best top time and got 2nd last year. Britton has four runs under 2:04, which no one else
in the field can say. Nelson's best run is only a 2:06, but he was able to do that in
March and he placed 5th last year. He hasn't really pushed himself in the event since then.
Masters beat Britton at the Regional Meet, but that's his only run under 2:09. Ferguson's
best time is only 2:05, but he does have excellent speed and won't have spent any energy in
the 1600 earlier in the day. Aaron Estep is one of five in the field that have run under 2:04.

1600 M	1. Riley Freeman	Philip Barbour
	2. Chase Nelson	Scott
	3. Aaron Estep Tyler Consolidated
	4. Will Shaffer	Scott
	5. John Mundey Berkeley Springs
	6. Drew Woodford	Grafton
This is another mess. Freeman has the best time in the field with his 4:31 run at the Gazette
Relays. Nelson's time is just three seconds behind, and he's the only one in the field with
two runs under 4:40. Estep and Shaffer are the only other runners to have run under 4:40.
Mundey has three runs under 4:45. Woodford only has the 8th best time in the field and only
one run under 4:45, but he's generally a big meet performer. 9 in the field have run under
4:45.

3200 M	1. John Mundey Berkeley Springs
	2. Drew Woodford	Grafton
	3. Riley Freeman	Philip Barbour
	4. Will Shaffer	Scott
	5. Cory Yarrington	Berkeley Springs
	6. Aaron Estep Tyler Consolidated
The AA Boys distance races are all hard to pick this year. Mundey gets the nod because he
has the top time and three runs under 10:10. No one else has more than one. Woodford gets
the pick for 2nd because he has three runs of 10:12 or better and because he ran away with
the State Cross Country Meet. Freeman also has three runs of 10:12 or better. Shaffer has
the 2nd best time in the field, but his 10:05 at the Gazette Relays has been his only run
under 10:24. Yarrington's 10:08 at the Regional is his only run under 10:21. Estep has a
pair of runs under 10:15. Nathan Harshberger and Chris Toompas have also run under 10:20.

110 HH	1. Marty Zangus	Weir
	2. Tristan Reneau	Grafton
	3. Chauncey McClanahan	Point Pleasant
	4. Wesley Washington	Keyser
	5. Jeffrey Cooper	Sherman
	6. Charles Propps	Greenbrier West
Zangus is the only one in the field to have gone under 15 seconds, and he's been under 4
times. Reneau has the next best series and the next best top time. McClanahan is the only
other one to have run under 15.50. Washington has three runs under 15.60. He's improving
in this event and is definitely a threat to move up. Cooper and Propps have three runs
under 16 seconds. It's really a toss-up between the two. Dylan Trout also has three runs
under 16 seconds.

300 IH	1. Wesley Washington	Keyser
	2. Tristan Reneau	Grafton
	3. Marty Zangus	Weir
	4. Chauncey McClanahan	Point Pleasant
	5. John Perry Ritchie
	6. Sean Tallman	Ritchie
Washington has the top time, the only run under 40 seconds, and five runs of 40.50 or better.
Reneau placed 2nd last year and has a pair of runs under 40.60. Zangus has a better top time
than Reneau and three runs under 41 seconds. McClanahan has run under 41 seconds, has three
runs under 41.50 and five under 42. Perry has the 3rd best Regional time. He's spent most
of the season nursing an injury, but that Regional run seems to indicate good health and make
him a threat to win the event. Tallman is the only other one in the field to have gone under
42 seconds, and he's done it twice.

4x100 M	1. Magnolia
	2. Tyler Consolidated
	3. Point Pleasant
	4. Lincoln
	5. Weir
	6. Keyser
Magnolia has a pair of runs under 45 seconds and the fastest regional time. Tyler Consolidated
is the only other team to have gone under 45 seconds. Point Pleasant has a pair of runs faster
than anyone else's best. Lincoln has the 4th best top time in the field and did it at the
Regional Meet. Weir on has the 7th best top time and the 6th best Regional time, but they
have Shawn Burns as their closer, and I think he's still getting better. Keyser and Roane
are the only other teams to have been under 46 seconds.

4x200 M	1. Magnolia
	2. Point Pleasant
	3. Weir
	4. Ritchie
	5. Lincoln
	6. PikeView
Magnolia, Point Pleasant, and Weir are the only teams to have been under 1:34. This is the
order in which they finished at the Regional, so that's where I put them. I don't know if
adding Christopher Blankenship to the unit would improve Point Pleasant or not. I suppose
that is a possibility. Ritchie is the only team in the field to have gone under 1:35 three
times. Lincoln is the only remaining team to have gone under 1:35. PikeView is the only
remaining team with multiple runs under 1:36.

4x400 M	1. Keyser
	2. Oak Glen
	3. Ritchie
	4. Magnolia
	5. Point Pleasant
	6. Grafton
I have Keyser, Oak Glen, Ritchie, Magnolia, and Point Pleasant all being able to run 3:32 or
3:33. Keyser is the only one that has actually done it, though, so they get the spot. Oak
Glen beat Magnolia and Ritchie at the Regional, so I gave them the 2nd spot. Ritchie has
the option of adding John Perry to their unit, which could conceivably push them to 1st. I
don't know if they'll do it or not or if he's in good enough shape to give them an excellent
300IH, 4x200, and 4x400, so I'm splitting the difference and dropping them into 3rd. Magnolia
and Point Pleasant have been under 3:36, so they get the next two spots. Grafton gets the
slight edge over Braxton and Lincoln for 6th.

4x800 M	1. Berkeley Springs
	2. Scott
	3. Ritchie
	4. Philip Barbour
	5. Magnolia
	6. Keyser
I can see any of the front four winning it. I have them all being able to run under 8:25.
It should be close. Berkeley Springs has been there, as has Scott, so they get the top two
spots. Ritchie ran 8:34 without Cody Masters, who ran 2:03 in the open 800. I think they
have considerable upside, so I moved them ahead of Philip Barbour. I have Magnolia and Keyser
both being able to run under 8:30.

Shuttle	1. Keyser
	2. Greenbrier West
	3. Tyler Consolidated
	4. Point Pleasant
	5. Ritchie
	6. Roane
No one has been under 60 seconds yet. Keyser has four runs under 60.5. No one else has been
that fast. Greenbrier West has been under 61 three times. Only Tyler Consolidated of the
remaining teams has run that fast even once. Point Pleasant is the only other team to have
run under 62 seconds. Raone is th eonly remaining team to have run under 63 seconds, but that
was before Sam Harper was injured. I think that's enough for Ritchie to move ahead of them.
Roane did still manage to have the 6th best regional time, so I'm giving them the spot, but
Grafton and Sissonville will fight them for it.

H Jump	1. Peyton Hartman	Keyser
	2. Ronnie Carroll	Braxton
	3. Jacob Rollo Sherman
	4. Matt Knowlton	Ravenswood
	5. Rhett Atkinson	Roane
	6. Steven Rogalski	Magnolia
Hartman is the only jumper in the field with a pair of 6'4 jumps, and one of them came at the
Regional. Carroll is the only other jumper with a 6'4 jump. He also has a 6'2 jump. Rollo
is the only other jumper with a pair of 6'2 jumps. Knowlton has a 6'2 and a 6'1. Atkinson
has a 6'2 and five jumps of at least 6'0. Rogalski has three 6'0 jumps including one at his
Regional Meet. Tommy Symns and Michael Coen each also have three 6'0 jumps (Symns has a 6'2)
but neither was able to clear 6'0 at the Regional Meet.

P Vault	1. Cody Masters	Ritchie
	2. Hunter Lemasters	Tyler Consolidated
	3. Paige Haught	Ritchie
	4. Matthew McCormick	Point Pleasant
	5. Chad Brinson	Webster
	6. Dalton Miller	Webster
Masters is the clear favorite with at least 5 vaults over 13', four of 13'6 or better, and
a 14' vault. Lemasters is the only other vaulter to have cleared 12'0. He has a 12'6 vault
and four vaults of 12'. Haught has an 11'6 vault and four 11'0 vaults. McCormick has a pair
of 11'0 vaults and they have occurred in the last two meets. Brinson has an 11'1 and an 11'0
vault. Miller has the next best series. Only 7 vaulters in the field have topped 10'0 at
any time this season.

L Jump	1. Brandon Franklin	Liberty Harrison
	2. Brendan Kacor	Magnolia
	3. Tyler Chipps	Webster
	4. Jacob Rollo Sherman
	5. Josh Kelly Berkeley Springs
	6. Keith Anderson	Weir
Franklin has the only 22' jump in the field, is the only jumper with three 21' leaps, and
have five leaps of at least 20'9. Kacor has a pair of 21' leaps and five of at least 20'5.
Chipps has a 21' jump and three over 20'. His 21' jump came at the Regional, which was held
at the State Meet venue. Rollo is one of three in the field with five 20' jumps. Kelly only
showed up on the radar late in the season, but he's put together three jumps of at least
19'5. Anderson had a 20' jump in early April and then hit 19'8.5 at the Regional Meet. No
one else has hit 20' this season. There are four other jumpers who have more than one 19'
jump.

Shot	1. Mark Britton	Ritchie
	2. Matt Riggs Magnolia
	3. Nathan Ameling	Westside
	4. Nicco Mills Oak Glen
	5. Tylor Faulkiner	Philip Barbour
	6. Jared Shipe Ritchie
Britton is the clear favorite with 5 throws that are better than anyone else's best. His top
throw is nearly 5' ahead of the field. Riggs is the only other thrower to have hit 50'.
Ameling has the 3rd best top throw and three throws that are better than anyone else's best
in the remaining field. Mills easily has the next best series, and Faulkiner easily has the
next best series after that. Shipe easily has the next best series after that.

Discus	1. Mark Britton	Ritchie
	2. Matt Riggs Magnolia
	3. Nicco Mills Oak Glen
	4. Tylor Faulkiner	Philip Barbour
	5. Ethan Delekta	Oak Glen
	6. Eric Sharier	Liberty Raleigh
Britton is again the clear favorite. He has a 173'4 throw to his credit. His 5th best throw
is 166'4, which is nearly 12' better than anyone else's best. Riggs' best throw is over 11'
further than anyone else's best. He's topped 150' four times. No one else has hit 144.
Mills is the only other one to have topped 140 more than once. He has three of those throws
to his credit. Faulkiner and Delekta are the only other throwers to have topped 140'.
Sharier is the only other thrower to have topped 130', and he's done it three times.
