Class A Boys Individual Event Predictions

100 M	1. Matt Schrumpf	Bishop Donahue
	2. Cody Mongold	Moorefield
	3. Davon Marion	Mount Hope
	4. Casey Pingley	Valley Wetzel
	5. Jimmy Deter Madonna
	6. Corey Good Buffalo
Schrumpf has the best time by 0.25 seconds and has a pair of FAT runs better than
anyone else's best. Mongold has a pair of runs under 11.60 and another at 11.60.
He also had the fastest Regional time in the field. Marion has the next best series
of times. Pingley had the 2nd best Regional time in the field and beat Schrumpf
in the process. Deter has the next bes series. Good only ran the event at the
Regional Meet, but was solid enough to earn this spot. Richwood's Dustin Brown,
South Harrison's Joey Frye, Wheeling Central's Devaughn Gordon, and Fayetteville's
Chris Hill have all been under 12 seconds, and that could put them in the hunt.

200 M	1. Matt Schrumpf	Bishop Donahue
	2. Cuylor Edgell	Doddridge
	3. Xavier Whetzel	Wheeling Central
	4. Brian Mosteller	Charleston Catholic
	5. Tanner Graham	Pocahontas
	6. Joey Frye South Harrison
Schrumpf and Edgell have very similar series. Edgell has been a little better on
the top end. Schrumpf has been fast a little more consistently. Since Schrumpf
beat Edgell at the Regional, he gets the nod. Whetzel has the next best series
and also beat Edgell at the Regional. Mosteller easily has the next best series.
It wouldn't be a shock for any of the front four to win the event. Grahm has
three runs under 24 seconds. Frye was just ahead of Moorefield's Kellan Snyder at
the Regional. Paden City's Taylor Still and Richwood's Josh Hanna could also be
factors.

400 M	1. Kyle Davies St. Marys
	2. Matt Schrumpf	Bishop Donahue
	3. Cuylor Edgell	Doddridge
	4. Xavier Whetzel	Wheeling Central
	5. Brian Mosteller	Charleston Catholic
	6. Adam Kerns Williamstown
Davies had the best Regional run and the 2nd best overall time. He also has the
best total series of times. Schrumpf beat Edgell and Whetzel at their Regional
and is the only one in the field with a pair of runs under 52 seconds. Edgell has
the best top time in the field, but he's only run the race twice and only got 3rd
in his Region. Whetzel has three runs under 53 seconds, but hasn't been as fast
as the other three. Mosteller's only run came at his Regional, but it was solid
enough for him to be placed fifth. Kerns also only ran the event at the Regional,
but again it was good enough to earn a spot. Richwood's Derrick Chaffin,
Pocahontas' Trevor Caplinger, Williamstown's Michael Shaw, and Pendleton's Jeremiah
Propst have all been under 54 seconds and will try to slip in for a spot. Shaw
and Propst will have to try to do so from the 1st heat.

800 M	1. Derrick Chaffin	Richwood
	2. Seth Ritchie	Charleston Catholic
	3. Rob Bonenberger	Wheeling Central
	4. Abram Rittenhouse	Pocahontas
	5. Cyrus Hajiran	Wheeling Central
	6. Eric Hamilton	St. Marys
Chaffin has three runs better than anyone else's best. His top time is 1.7 seconds
ahead of anyone else. Ritchie has a pair of runs under 2:06. Only he and Chaffin
have a full series of runs under 2:10. Bonenberger has only run the event twice,
but both were under 2:08. Rittenouse has four runs under 2:10. Hajiran has a pair
of runs under 2:10, and he nearly placed last year. Hamilton is actually one of
only four in the field to have gone under 2:07, but his 2nd best run is only 2:09.6.

1600 M	1. Rob Bonenberger	Wheeling Central
	2. Abram Rittenhouse	Pocahontas
	3. Andrew Blair	Charleston Catholic
	4. Eric Hamilton	St. Marys
	5. Daniel Clevenger	Doddridge
	6. Derrick Chaffin	Richwood
Bonenberger has the best time in the field by over 9 seconds. He has two runs that
are four seconds better than anyone else's best. Rittenhouse only hsa the 4th best
top time, but his series of runs is better than the rest, and he beat Bonenberger
head-to-head at the Cline Stansberry Invitational. Blair has the 2nd best top
time and placed last year, and he beat Rittenhouse at the Gazette Relays. Hamilton
is one of only three in the field to have been under 4:50 twice. Clevenger is one
of only three in the field with five runs under 5:00. He also beat Rittenhouse at
the Gazette Relays. Chaffin has only run the event once, and that was at the
Regional, and he finished right on Rittenhouse's heels. He's very much a threat
to finish near the top. He has very good 800 speed, and was All-State in Cross
Country. Doddridge's Tanner Mattie, and Cameron's Austin Chambers are the only
others to have gone under 4:55. A wildcard in this is Tucker's David Rhodes. He
finished 4th in the State Cross Country Meet and has adequate 400 speed, so you
have to believe a decent mile is in there somewhere.

3200 M	1. Rob Bonenberger	Wheeling Central
	2. Abram Rittenhouse	Pocahontas
	3. Daniel Clevenger	Doddridge
	4. Tanner Mattie	Doddridge
	5. Austin Chambers	Cameron
	6. Tony Majestro	Charleston Catholic
Bonenberger's top time is over 13 seconds ahead of anyone else. He has two runs
that are 7 seconds ahead of anyone else's best. Rittenhouse ran a very solid
10:16 at the Gazette Relays, but his 2nd best run is only 10:45. Clevenger has
three runs under 10:40 and ran 10:25 at his Conference Meet. Mattie has a pair
of runs under 10:40 including a 10:25 at the Gazette Relays. Chambers has run
under 10:40, but hasn't done so since April 8th. Majestro has a pair of runs
under 11:00 and placed 4th last year. The prime threats to move up are Richwood's
Andrew Shaffer who ran 10:43 in March, but hasn't been under 11:00 since, and
Tucker's David Rhodes who has only run the event twice but was under 11:00 at
his Regional Meet, and as was already mentioned, he was 4th in the State Cross
Country Meet.

110 HH	1. Zach Holden Doddridge
	2. Ryan Jones Bishop Donahue
	3. Dylan McNutt	Williamstown
	4. Micah Wood Williamstown
	5. Devin Orndorff	East Hardy
	6. Dylan Opyoke	Clay-Battelle
Holden has at least five runs better than anyone else's best. He's the only one
in the field to have gone under 16 seconds. Jones hase four runs that equal or
better anyone else's best. McNutt's top two runs came at his Regional Meet.
Wood's series is similar to McNutt's, and he actually has more runs under 17
seconds than McNutt does. Orndoff is the only other one to have a pair of runs
under 17 seconds. Opyoke cracked the 17 second barrier at his Regional and
placed last year. St. Marys' Brett Wright and Cameron's Seth Ward have also
run under 17 seconds.

300 IH	1. Cory Good Buffalo
	2. Matt Moore Buffalo
	3. Zach Holden Doddridge
	4. Micah Wood Williamstown
	5. Dan Gordon Wheeling Central
	6. Landry Marrs	Doddridge
Good has the best time in the group and three runs under 43 seconds. Moore also
has three runs under 43 seconds. Holden has the next best series with four runs
under 43.2 seconds, and he placed 2nd in the event last year. Wood has a better
top time than Holden. Gordon nearly beat Holden at the Regional Meet. Wood and
Gordon appear to have only run the event in two meets, which could lead to a nice
move up or a nice move down. Marrs has the next best series and placed 3rd last
year. He'll have to try to do it from Heat 1, though. Williamstown's Dylan
McNutt, Richwood's Dustin Brown, and East Hardy's George Maddox have also run
under 44 seconds.

4x100 M	1. Wheeling Central
	2. Moorefield
	3. Valley Wetzel
	4. Clay-Battelle
	5. Williamstown
	6. Charleston Catholic
Wheeling Central has four runs better than anyone else's best. They were without
Nick Hurley at the Regional Meet, and the result was having to run from the 1st
Heat at the State Meet. If he's back, they likely win the event. If he isn't,
they probably don't. Moorefield has the next best top time. Valley Wetzel has
come on very strong laste in the season. Clay-Battelle has been very solid all
year and was barely behind Valley Wetzel at the Regional Meet. Williamstown
doesn't have the next best time, but they may could move Adam Kerns to their unit
and that could put them in the top 3, so I was afraid to put them any lower.
Charleston Catholic beat Williamstown at the Regional and has a pair of runs under
47 seconds. Meadow Bridge and Madonna have also been under 47 seconds.

4x200 M	1. Buffalo
	2. Wheeling Central
	3. Charleston Catholic
	4. Pocahontas
	5. Moorefield
	6. Valley Wetzel
Wheeling Central won the event last year with a 1:36.90. That time likely won't
place this year. Buffalo has a pair of runs under 1:35 and nearly broke 1:34 at
the Regional Meet. Wheeling Central has the next best top time. Like in the 4x100,
they were without Nick Hurley at the Regional. It didn't keep this unit from
being in the fast heat, though. If Hurley's back, they're a threat to win. If
he's not, they could drop several spots as the field is strong this year.
Charleston Catholic is the only other team to have run under 1:35. Pocahontas ran
a low 1:35 at their Regional. Moorefield and Valley Wetzel were under 1:36 at
their respective Regionals. Moorefield has three runs under 1:37. Valley Wetzel
has two. No one else has been under 1:37. Williamstown, Richwood, and Paden
City are the most likely to sneak in for a place. Williamstown could add Kerns
which would very much put them in contention for a place. Doddridge could add
Justin Heflin which could put them in the mix as well.

4x400 M	1. Williamstown
	2. St. Marys
	3. Doddridge
	4. Bishop Donahue
	5. Moorefield
	6. Wheeling Central
Williamstown's best unit could possibly produce a 3:34, and I'm not sure if anyone
else can match that. St. Marys did beat Williamstown at the Regional, and I think
they can go as low as 3:36. Doddridge can probably also hit that 3:36 range, but
St. Marys will have Kyle Davies on the anchor. Bishop Donahue put together a very
strong run at the Regional Meet. Moorefield ran a very solo 3:41 at their Regional
Meet. Wheeling Central can probably hit the 3:40 range. They could conceivably
move Xavier Whetzel to this unit from the 4x100 or 4x200, and that might put them
down in the Williamstown/St. Marys/Doddridge range. Charleston Catholic and
Pocahontas can also hit in the 3:40-41 range. Charleston Catholic could hit 3:38
or so if they put Brian Mosteller on there. Like Wheeling Central, though,
Charleston Catholic would have to sacrifice the 4x100 or 4x200 to do it. Richwood
is a darkhorse in this event. I think they can hit in the 3:43 range, but that
probably won't be enough to do it.

4x800 M	1. Charleston Catholic
	2. Wheeling Central
	3. Pocahontas
	4. Williamstown
	5. Doddridge
	6. St. Marys
I have Charleston Catholic and Wheeling Central both in the 8:33 range. Since
Charleston Catholic has actually hit down close to that time, I'm giving them
the edge. Pocahontas can probably get close to 8:40. Williamstown and Doddridge
can probably get down to 8:45 or so. Williamstown has gotten the better of the
matchups thus far, so they get the nod. I think St. Marys can put one together
that can get down to 8:46 or so. Buffalo and Cameron are the most likely to
crack the scoring lineup.

Shuttle	1. Buffalo
	2. Doddridge
	3. Williamstown
	4. Wheeling Central
	5. East Hardy
	6. Bishop Donahue
Buffalo is the only one to have gone under 1:01 and the only one to have been under
1:02 twice. They have four runs under 1:03. Doddridge has the 2nd best top time.
They also have three runs under 1:03. Williamstown's top time is close to
Doddridge's and they beat them at the Conference Meet. Wheeling Central has
the next best top time. East Hardy has a couple runs under 1:04. Bishop Donahue
has a better top time than East Hardy and could take the spot. The front six have
all been under 1:02.6. No one else has been under 1:03.9.

L Jump	1. Cuylor Edgell	Doddridge
	2. Davon Marion	Mount Hope
	3. Kyle Davies St. Marys
	4. Jeff Fertig Pocahontas
	5. Clayton Lewis	Tygarts Valley
	6. Alexander Redden	Meadow Bridge
Edgell has the top jump in the group, is the only one with a pair of 21' jumps,
and is the only one with five 20' jumps. He also placed 2nd last year. Marion
is the only other jumper ot have hit 21' and the only other one with three 20'
jumps. He also placed 3rd last year. Davies is the only other jumper to top 20'
and he's done it twice. He also placed 4th last year. Fertig hs the next best
top jump and three over 19', and he placed last year. Lewis has four jumps over
19'. No one else has topped 19'. Redded has the next best top jump and the next
best Regional performance. Mount Hope's Andrew Humphrey and East Hardy's George
Maddox are the most likely to slip into scoring position.

H Jump	1. Jeff Fertig Pocahontas
	2. Travis Bowman	Hannan
	3. John Belancic	Wheeling Central
	4. Issac Gaines	South Harrison
	5. Matt Logan Williamstown
	6. Joe Capito Madonna
Fertig won the event last year, has the top jump in the field by 4 inches and has
four jumps of 6'2 or better. Bowman is the only other jumper to have hit 6'2, and
he's doine it twice. Belancis has four jumps of 6'0, though none have come in May.
Gaines has a pair of 6'0 jumps including his Regional Meet. Logan has a 6'0 jump
and three 5'10 jumps. His 6'0 jump came at the Regional. Capital has a 6'0 jump
and a 5'11 jump and three 5'10 jumps. Each of the top 6 have hit 6'0 at some
point. No one else in the field has. Only St. Marys' Brett Wright has more than
one 5'10 jump.

Shot	1. Matthew Kiger	Williamstown
	2. Aaron Schneid	Wheeling Central
	3. Hayden Ullman	St. Marys
	4. Jacob Jones Richwood
	5. William Radcliff	Gilmer
	6. Jakeb Elliott	Williamstown
Kiger has been over 50' twice, though one of them was at the downhill pit at
Parkersburg South. Schneid has more 47+ throws than anyone in the field and is the
only one in the field with five throws of 46' or more. Ullman has a 48' throw to
his credit and a high 46. Jones has three throws over 45'. Radcliff has five
throws of 43'9 or better, which only three in the field can say. Elliott has
four throws of 43' or better. No one else remaning has more than one. Mount
Hope's Joeseph Thornequest is the most likely to steal a spot. He and DeVaughn
Gordon of Wheeling Central are the only others with more than one throw over 42'.

Discus	1. Aaron Schneid	Wheeling Central
	2. Matt Kiger Williamstown
	3. Jacob Jones Richwood
	4. Jakeb Elliott	Williamstown
	5. Chris Lipps Doddridge
	6. Evan Rose Pocahontas
Schneid has five throws of 141' or more. No one else has more than three. Kiger
actually has a better top throw than Schneid, and his two best throws have come
in his last two meets, so he's certainly a threat to win. Jones has four throws
over 134'. Elliott has a pair over 136'. Lipps has a pair of throws over 130'.
Rose is the only other thrower to top 130'. Non one else has been higher than 125'.

P Vault	1. Cuylor Edgell	Doddridge
	2. Kyle Davies St. Marys
	3. Cam Kinder Gilmer
	4. Mat Looney Williamstown
	5. Jeremy White	Doddridge
	6. Tyler George	Williamstown
Edgell is the only one in the field to have topped 14', and he's done it three
times. He has at least five vaults of 13'6. No one else has more than one.
Davies is the only other vaulter to clear 13'6. He has four 13' vaults to go with
it. Kinder cleared 12'6 at his Regional and has four 12'0 vaults to go with that
performance. Looney has a pair of 12'6 vaults, but they both happened in March.
He does have three other 12'0 vaults. White cleared 12'6 at his Regional and has
three 12'0 vaults to go with it. George is the only other one to have more than
one 11'0 vault. Doddridge's Franklin Crouch is the only other vaulter to have
cleared 11'0 on the season.

High Point Predictions
1. Cuylor Edgell	Doddridge 34
2. Matt Schrumpf	Bishop Donahue 29
3. Rob Bonenberger	Wheeling Central	28
4. Kyle Davies St. Marys 26
5. Abram Rittenhouse	Pocahontas 21.50
