Our state meet predictions are based on results we have gathered throughout the season, head-to-head competitions, regional results, perceived potential, trends and (of course) gut feeling.

Wheeling Park is a slight favorite heading into the meet.  They have a few places where
they can pick up points, primarily in the relays and make it a runaway.  However, they
also have 6 placers of 3rd or higher that could drop points.  Cabell Midland isn't far
off and could pick up points if their distance runners step up.  Jefferson doesn't have
a lot of room for improvment on their placings and will have to have Wheeling Park and
Cabell Midland falter to take the title.  Buckhannon-Upshur could move up if they have
an exceptional meet.  They have a couple places where they could add points.  Nobody
else is really in the running for the team title.

This should be one of the better team races.  Parkersburg has a 5 point lead and has several
places they could pick up points and six placings of 3rd or better where they could drop
points.  Morgantown is more likely to drop points than to gain as they're picked with 3 firsts
and 2 seconds.  Cabell Midland stands to gain the most.  They only have four placings of
3rd or higher, but 7 placings of 4th or lower.  A step up here or there, and they're right
in there.  Preston doesn't have a lot of upward mobility.  They're in the hunt, but will need
things to go very right.

Winfield and Ravenswood are about even on the track, but Winfield continues to produce points
in the field events.  It would take some major breakdowns for Ravenswood to catch them.  Those
two teams are miles ahead of anyone else.

This is probably the closest race Winfield's been in for a while.  For them not to win, 
though, it will take a breakdown.  Berkeley Springs already has 6 first place showings.  You
can't improve on that.  Weir is probably more likely to be a threat than Berkeley Springs,
but even Weir is sitting at the high end of almost all their scoring events.

This could be a really good team battle.  Williamstown comes in as 8 point favorites.  
Doddridge could pick up points in some places to close that gap up.  St. Marys isn't far
off and could move up if anyone stumbles.

This one could be quite a fight.  The gap between the top three is only 13 points.  Doddridge
does have several opportunities grab points where they were picked just outside the top
six.  They'll need their field event people to have good weekends.  Wheeling Central and
Charleston Catholic will frequently be battling for the same points.  If one team comes
out on the dominant end of those battles, it could lead them to the title.
