Individual Predictions

100 M	1. Jasmine Cotton	Fayetteville
	2. Camai Roberson	Gilmer
	3. Shalanda Hall	Clay Battelle
	4. Eric Williams	Gilmer
	5. Meghan Coby Moorefield
	6. Leah Comis Madonna
Cotton won the event last year and has yet to be beaten in it this year. Roberson
has a strong series of hand-times. Hall beat Roberson at mid-season and is a definite
threat in this event. Williams finished 2nd in the event last year, right on the
heels of Cotton. Coby won her regional, so we have her the edge over Comis. Doddridge's
Niki Zickefoose, Paden City's Jennifer Bowers, and Valley Fayette's Danielle Hardy
are definite threats to place.

200 M	1. Camai Roberson	Gilmer
	2. Jasmine Cotton	Fayetteville
	3. Erica Williams	Gilmer
	4. Shalanda Hall	Clay Battelle
	5. Niki Zickefoose	Doddridge
	6. Jenny Bowers Paden City
Roberson took the event last year, and we're taking her again this year as Cotton
will be coming off the 800 Meter just as she was last year. Williams was 3rd last
season and has started coming on late in the season. Hall could definitely be in
the mix but isn't as experienced in the 200 as she is in the 100. Zickefoose looks
like a solid 5th. Bowers was given a slight edge over Danielle Hardy of Valley
Fayette, and Katie Kern of Charleston Catholic.

400 M	1. Jasmine Cotton	Fayetteville
	2. Erica Williams	Gilmer
	3. Katie Kern Charleston Catholic
	4. Tina Noronha Charleston Catholic
	5. Megan Kelley Doddridge
	6. Trista West South Harrison
Cotton has the State's best time this year, regardless of class, and won the event
last year by over 2 seconds. Williams was second last year and looks to end up there
again. Noronha edged Kern at the Regional, but Kern has a better series and placed
3rd last year. West beat Kelley at the regional, but again we're going with the
better series. Paden City's Jesse Natali and Wheeling Central's Lauren Bauer are
the next most likely to slip into the placing.

800 M	1. Jasmine Cotton	Fayetteville
	2. Jennie Spencer	Doddridge
	3. Loralee Hillyard	Paden City
	4. Clara Grandt Doddridge
	5. Heidi Webb Williamstown
	6. Lauren Bauer Wheeling Central
Cotton only has the 7th best time in the event this season, but she hasn't been
beaten in it and won the event last year. Spencer has the top time coming into the
meet. Hillyard has the 3rd best top time and has a three year history of performing
very well at the State Meet. Grandt has the 2nd best time and the 2nd best series
and could move up. Webb won her region and has the 4th best time. Bauer has a better
series than Webb with three outings of 2:33. Julie McGinley of Wheeling Central,
Katie Pollard of Charleston Catholic, and Hannah Robinson of Cameron have all gone
under 2:34. This one could be a real mess. We have 8 girls who have been between
2:32.09 and 2:34.37.

1600 M	1. Clara Grandt Doddridge
	2. Anna Fragle Charleston Catholic
	3. Bethany Sloane	Wheeling Central
	4. Hannah Robinson	Cameron
	5. Carrie Zickefoose	Doddridge
	6. Stephanie Caruso	Wheeling Central
Grandt's top time is 15 seconds better than anyone else. Her 5th best time is over
9 seconds better than anyone else's best. She likely will not be challenged. Fragale
is the only other person to go under 5:40 this season, doing it three times, including
a 5:38 in March. She also finished 2nd last year. Sloane won her region and finished
3rd last year. Robinson finished 4th last year and has a better top time than Sloane.
Zickefoose and Caruso has very similar series. Zickefoose is slightly ahead on the
top two times, so we've given her the nod. Megan Cook of Wheeling Central is the
only other competitor under 5:50.

3200 M	1. Clara Grandt Doddridge
	2. Kallen Weaver	Wheeling Central
	3. Carrie Zickefoose	Doddridge
	4. Hanna Robinson	Cameron
	5. Elizabeth Hyde	Doddridge
	6. Ashley Wolfe Wheeling Central
Grandt's top time if 51 seconds faster than anyone else's. Her 5th best time is
36 seconds better than anyone else's best. As in the 1600, she likely will not be
challenged. Weaver has a better top time and a better series than Zickefoose.
Robinson's top time is within 0.26 of Zickefoose but her series isn't as strong.
Realistically, any of these three could take 2nd place. Hyde has the next best
time, and her series is just slightly ahead of Wolfe at every mark, but never more
than 7 seconds. Mount Hope's Amanda Blankenship is the only other runner in the
field to have gone under 13:00.

100 HH	1. Bethany Kerwood	Wheeling Central
	2. Kristin Strawn	Wheeling Central
	3. Tracy Bailey St. Marys
	4. Marissa Haddix	South Harrison
	5. Jesse Natali Paden City
	6. Carolyn Shiflett	Tygarts Valley
Kerwood is the only one in the field to go under 16.0 twice, and those were her
two regional runs, so she's bringing it down at the right time. Strawn has easily
the next best series of times, showing 5 runs of 16.5 or better. Bailey has four
runs under 17. Haddix showed some impressive potential with her showing at the
Gazette Relays. Natali and Shiflett have a pair of runs under 17. Lindsay Elkins
hasn't been under 17.5 but she did place last year which shows she can be a threat
for this year.

300 LH	1. Katie Kern Charleston Catholic
	2. Kristen Strawn	Wheeling Central
	3. Jennie Spencer	Doddridge
	4. Lindsay Elkins	Buffalo
	5. Jesse Natali Paden City
	6. Tracy Bailey St. Marys
Kern won the event last year and has three times better than anyone else's best
this year. Strawn is the only other competitor with two runs under 50. Spencer
finished 2nd last year and could move up. Elkins placed 3rd last year and is one
of only 3 in the field that has 5 runs under 51. Natali has a better top time than
Elkins and has the next best series of times. Bailey edges out Bethany Kerwood
of Wheeling Central for the 6th spot.

4x100 M	1. Wheeling Central
	2. Charleston Catholic
	3. Madonna
	4. Valley Fayette
	5. Doddridge
	6. Moorefield
Wheeling Central is the only team in the field to go under 54, and they've been
under 53 twice. Charleston Catholic has been under 55 three times and won their
region. Madonna has the 2nd best top time in the field. Valley Fayette has a
pair of runs under 55. Doddridge has slipped under 55 once. Moorefield was right
on Doddridge's heels at the regional meet. St. Marys, Williamstown, and Greenbrier
West could factor into the scoring.

4x200 M	1. Wheeling Central
	2. Charleston Catholic
	3. Doddridge
	4. Paden City
	5. Madonna
	6. Moorefield
Wheeling Central is the only team that has gone under 1:52 and the only team to
have gone under 1:54 more than once. Charleston Catholic showed a strong unit at
the Gazette Relays. Doddridge is the only other team to go under 1:53 on the
season. Paden City, Madonna, and Moorefield all were faster than Doddridge at
their respective regionals and could easily move up. The top 6 teams have all
been under 1:55. No other team has been under 1:57.

4x400 M	1. Charleston Catholic
	2. Doddridge
	3. Wheeling Central
	4. Paden City
	5. Greenbrier West
	6. Williamstown
The top three in this event can all conceivably go under 4:20 and win the event.
This should be a great race to close the meet. We've given Charleston Catholic
the edge in ths, followed closely by Doddridge and Wheeling Central. Paden City
is the only other team that has gone under 4:30. Greenbrier West won their region
by a large margin and could probably go faster. Williamstown has gone 4:35, while
no other remaining team has gone under 4:43.

4x800 M 1. Wheeling Central
	2. Doddridge
	3. Charleston Catholic
	4. Williamstown
	5. Cameron
	6. Greenbrier West
Wheeling Central, Charleston Catholic, and Doddridge have already gone under 10:20.
Only one other team has broken 11:00. Those top three teams all have the potential
to go under 10:10 when fully loaded. This should be a great race to open the meet.
Williamstown has gone under 11:00 and has the potential to go in the low 10:40's.
Cameron has the next best time by 10 seconds and can likely go several seconds faster
than what we've seen. Greenbrier West won their region by a large margin and has
the next best time. - Late Note - With reports that Anna Fragale will not be in the
4x800, we've moved Doddridge ahead of Charleston Catholic in this event.

Shuttle	1. Wheeling Central
	2. Williamstown
	3. Madonna
	4. Tygarts Valley
	5. Bishop Donahue
	6. Doddridge
Wheeling Central has the best time in the field by over 2.5 seconds, making them a
strong favorite in this event. Williamstown has been under 1:11 twice. Madonna
has the next best time. Tygarts Valley ran a strong regional performance. Bishop
Donahue has a strong series of runs despite a slower than expected regional performance.
Doddridge has the next best series of times. The six teams picked have all been
under 1:13. Only South Harrison has been under 1:15 among the remaining teams.

L Jump	1. Camai Roberson	Gilmer
	2. Amanda Horrocks	Midland Trail
	3. Marissa Haddix	South Harrison
	4. Erica Williams	Gilmer
	5. Carolyn Shiflett	Tygarts Valley
	6. Kelsey Oldfield	St. Marys
Roberson has the top jump in the field and it occurred at the regional meet. She
has four jumps of at least 15'10. Horrocks is the two-time defending champion
and could easily win it again. Haddix is the only person aside from Roberson
that has gone past 16'. Williams shows five jumps of at least 15'4. Shiflett
has a pair of 15'4 jumps. Oldfield finished 3rd last year and could easily climb the
charts again. St. Marys' Brooke Wilson, Williamstown's Shantel Pugliese, and
Buffalo's Lindsay Elkins have also gone over 15'0.

H Jump 1. Niki Zickefoose	Doddridge
	2. Camai Roberson	Gilmer
	3. Megan Elkins Buffalo
	4. Jennie Spencer	Doddridge
	5. Erica Spencer	Paden City
	6. Amanda Horrocks	Midland Trail
Zickefoose is the defending champion and is the only person in the field to go
higher than 5'2 this year. Roberson is the only other jumper to achieve 5'2.
Elkins, Spencer, and Spencer have each cleared 5'0 twice. None of the three did
it at the regional meet. Elkins beat J.Spencer at the Gazette Relays on misses.
E.Spencer was the runner-up last year and J.Spencer was the runner-up two years
ago when the meet was still A-AA. The three are really rather indistinguishable
from each other. Horrocks placed 3rd last year to get the nod for the final spot.

Discus	1. Molly Kiger Williamstown
	2. Megan Ueltschy	Valley Wetzel
	3. Dedra McDaniel	Mercer Christan
	4. Kayla Todd Doddridge
	5. Amanda Kenney-Napolitani Doddridge
	6. Amy Riddle Notre Dame
Kiger is far ahead of the field with a 5th best throw that is 10' further than
anyone else's best. Ueltschy was 4th last year and is the only other thrown with
5 tosses of at least 100'. We've only received two distances for McDaniel, but they
were both over 104'. Todd has four tosses of 100'. Kenney-Napolitani has a pair of
100' tosses as does Riddle. The only other thrower in the field with a 100' throw
is Midland Trail's Vanessa Cogar who also placed 6th last year.

Shot	1. Molly Kiger Williamstown
	2. Kayla Todd Doddridge
	3. Megan Ueltschy	Valley Wetzel
	4. Alicia Cayton	Doddridge
	5. Katelyn Wilkins	East Hardy
	6. Amy Riddle Notre Dame
Kiger is also far ahead of the field in this event. Her 5th best toss exceeds
anyone else's best by nearly two feet. She also has surpassed 40' twice. Only three
others have surpassed 36'. Todd has done it 4 times and none of the others have
done it more than once. Cayton has a slightly better top throw than Ueltschy
and a slightly stronger series, but Ueltschy's 36' throw came at Regionals and
she placed 3rd a year ago. Wilkins is the only other thrower to exceed 34', and
she's done it twice. Riddle has the next best top throw and the next best series.
Vanessa Cogar of Midland Trail and Elizabeth Bowers of Pendleton both have throws
of over 33' and St. Marys' Amanda Kerns hs three tosses over 32'.

P Vault	1. Kendall Queen	Williamstown
	2. Shelli Geissler	Williamstown
	3. Susanne Pinard	Doddridge
	4. Chantel Simmons	Doddridge
	5. Jordan Coffman	Doddridge
	6. Kayla Thompson	Williamstown
Queen is the only vaulter to have cleared 9'6, and she's done it three times.
Geissler is the only other vaulter to go over 9'0, which she's done in her two
most recent meets. Pinard is the only other vaulter to go over 8'6, which she's
done four consecutive times. Simmons and Coffman have both cleared 8'0, with
Simmons doing it five times and Coffman twice. Thompson is the only other vaulter
in the field to clear 7'6.
