[Notice: REC Jul 17]

David Evans received a packet from the WVSSAC and in reading the info on the 1998 Cross Country Program it stated, "Team Qualifier: If a team participates in five regular season meets, with at least 5 runners, the school will be considered as a team in the regional meet regardless of the number participating. The regulation will be monitored and verified by the Regional Meet Director."

Coach Evans, after phoning Betsy Best of the WVSSAC regarding this rule was able to determine that the above statement is incorrect. You must have a full team at the Regional Meet to be considered a team--partial teams DO NOT COUNT!

We were asked if we could post this on our internet site and if we could spread the word about this misprint in the Interscholastic Packet. The WVSSAC will get a bulletin out ASAP to all schools and coaches, but in the meantime, please forward this information to any and all cross country coaches you may know in WV.
