University's Micah Gainer has been named the Gatorade Player of the Year for Cross Country in West Virginia. This comes at the conclusion of a season in which he won 5 of 9 meets in which he competed, winning every in-state event. Gainer, just a Sophomore, closed the season with a strong State Meet performance that allowed him generate enough of a lead that he was able to cruise in and savor the victory.
