South Preston Middle School DOWN ON THE FARM INVITATIONAL

Dear Cross Country Coaches,

 

The South Preston Middle School Cross Country team would like to invite you to the 9th Annual Down on the Farm Invitational.  We greatly look forward to hosting middle school teams on our viewer-friendly course at Tunnelton-Denver Elementary.

 

When:   Tuesday, October 5, 2010

 

Where:   The Down on the Farm Invitational will take place at Tunnelton-Denver Elementary School in Tunnelton, West Virginia.  The course is fast and challenging with flats, meadows, hills, and woods.  The course is viewer friendly and is approximately 2 miles.


Event Schedule:

3:00 - 4:00 P.M.            Walk the Course

3:45 P.M.                      Coaches’ Meeting
4:15 P.M.                      Varsity Boys’ Race                  
4:45 P.M.                      Varsity Girls’ Race
5:15 P.M.                      Combined Junior Varsity Race (we may run two races depending on numbers)

6:00 P.M.                      Brief Awards Ceremony

 

Awards:   Team plaques/trophies (1st, 2nd , and 3rd place) will be awarded along with medals to the top-12 finishers in the varsity races and top-6 in the JV race.  Team plaques will not be awarded for the JV race. 

 

Entry Fee:   The entry fee will be $25 per team ($45 if you have both boys’ and girls’ teams) and $2 each for individual runners (JV teams will not be charged extra).  Please make checks payable to South Preston Middle School.

 

Concessions:   Light concessions will be available as well as the official Down on the Farm Invitational T-shirt.

 

Deadline:   If your school is interested in competing in the Down on the Farm Invitational, please email entries to Brad Martin at bradmar10@yahoo.com ASAP.  Entries will need to be completed electronically using Hy-Tek Team Manager or Team Manager Lite (Free Program to download and install).  For directions on how to download Team Manager Lite go to the following page at:  www.PrestonAthletics.com.  Entries will be limited due to limited space on site.  Deadline for all entries will be Tuesday, September 28, 2010.
