Coalfield Conference Cross Country Meet……

Do to the construction that is taking place at the Park, the maintenance road that goes to the top of the Park where the races will be run may be closed.   In order to get to the top of the Park, it will be possible to enter from the old golf course end (now the Beaver Creek Farms).  The road is dirt and there are some ruts, but it is passable.  We will have signs at the Beaver Creek Farm’s road (1.3 miles long)(across from the Crow Church) to lead cars to the backside entry.  However, buses cannot travel this way and will have to park in the parking lot beside the maintenance road near the Lake restrooms.  Signs will be there for bus parking.  There is a walking path from the parking lot to the top of the Lake and it only takes about five minutes to walk up.

The course has been altered as well and we will take the hill out of the course and run only at the top portion of the lake.  There will be plenty of maps.

If the weather is ok this week, construction may be completed before the race and the road may be ready for travel (we hope).   If there are no signs at Beaver Creek Farm’s Road on the day of the race, this will indicate that the maintenance road is open.  But it does look doubtful.

Make sure all travelers get there early, as the road from the golf course will be the main part of the cross country course.  All cars should be parked at the top of the Lake by 4:15.
