Coalfield Conference Cross Country

The Coalfield Conference Cross Country Meet will again be held at Little Beaver State Park on Tuesday, October 12, 2010.    Shady Spring High School will be hosting the meet at the lake.  The course is set on the mountain top at the lake and runs through gravel roads, grassy fields and a short section of pavement.  Much of the course is visible to spectators and there are several grassy areas to sit and watch.  The high school Coalfield Conference Meet is limited to teams in the Coalfield Conference.  There will be a middle school race as well on the day of the  Coalfield Conference meet.

The Coalfield Conference member schools are:  Bluefield, Greenbrier West, Independence, Liberty, Midland Trail, Mt. Hope, Mt. View, Oak Hill, Pikeview, Richwood, Shady Spring, Sherman, Webster Co., Westside and Wyoming East.

 

Middle School Madness…….

To coincide with the Coalfield Conference meet, there will be a middle school meet called the Coalfield Middle School Invitational.  This race is open to all West Virginia middle schools.

Event Schedule:

3:30pm-4:30pm – Tour the course

4:30-Boy’s and Girl’s Middle School Race (genders run together)

   (Awards will be given during the girl’s high school race)

5:15-Girl’s High School Varsity race (no limit on number of runners)

5:50-Boy’s High School Varsity race (no limit on number of runners)

6:30-Awards for Varsity Races
                  
 Awards:
Middle School – Coalfield Invitational

Individuals:   Medals to top 10 runners in each gender division
Team Trophies – 1st place boys/2nd place boys and 1st place  girl’s/2nd place girls

High School
Individuals:   Plaques to top 10 runners “All Coalfield Conference” in each gender division.  Honorable mention medals to 11-20 runners in boys and girls divisions
Team Trophies – 1st Boys/2nd Boys and 1st Girsl/2nd Girls
T-Shirts will be available for an optional purchase to all 20 “ALL CONFERENCE” runners (10 boys – 10 girls) for $5.00

 

 

Entry and registration

 

Entry fees: 

High schools $60.00 per school for two teams or 35.00 per individual team.

Middle Schools:  $30.00 per school for two teams or $20.00 per individual team

Individual runners = $5.00 each

Have all emailed , faxed or regular mail entries in by October 8, 2010.  You may enter your runners on the timetoenter.com site by October 10.   Do not enter your runners on the day of the race!
