BUCCANEER 3000 INVITATIONAL

The Buckhannon-Upshur Middle School Cross Country team would like to invite you to the Buccaneer 3000 Invitational. We look forward to hosting your middle school teams on our moderately challenging, viewer-friendly course at Buckhannon -Upshur High School.

When: Tuesday, September 28, 2010

Where: The Buccaneer 3000 Invitational will take place at Buckhannon-Upshur School in Buckhannon, West Virginia. The course is a meadow wtih rolling hills and some flats with one challenging hill midway through. The course is viewer friendly and is 3000 meters long, and has been appropriately termed the BUCCANEER 3000 !!!

VERY IMPORTANT Your Buses and Teams driving in cars need to arrive PRIOR to 3:00pm due to school letting out at our High School. When coming onto B-U drive please look for XC signs and follow them. There will be attendants there to direct you. There is a $5.00 charge per car load/group. Coaches cards will be honored.

Tentative Event Schedule:

3:00-4:00 P.M. Walk the Course....Brief coaches meeting around 4:00pm
4:30 P.M. Varsity Boys’ Race
5:00 P.M. Varsity Girls’ Race
5:45 P.M. Combined Junior Varsity Race *Brief Awards Ceremony, shortly after JV race *

Coaches Packets: can be picked up at Concession Stand. (will have course map and bibs)

Awards: Team trophies (1^st, 2^nd ,3rd place) will be awarded to the varsity along with medals to the top 20 finishers in the varsity races and top 7 in the JV race. 1st place trophy will be awarded in the JV race to both boys and girls team champions.

Entry Fee: The entry fee will be $50 which covers both boys and girls varsity. For single teams it's $35 and $5.00 each for individual runners (JV teams are included in your varsity entry fee). Please make checks payable to Buckhannon Upshur Middle School.........Memo Cross Country Entry Fee

Concessions: will be available (pizza, pep rolls etc.) as well as the "we bust ours to kick yours" official Buccaneer 3000 Invitational T-shirt.

Deadlines: If your school is interested in competing in the Buccaneer 3000 Invitational, please email or call Coach Cutright at ajcutty@aol.com by Friday September 10, 2010. Entries will be limited to around 12 schools. After you have received an email confirmation from Coach Cutright, THEN submit your entries at www.TimeToEnter.com This meet will be scored electronically, so you MUST enter your athletes at www.TimeToEnter.com DEADLINE FOR ALL ENTRIES IS MONDAY SEPTEMBER 20, 2010 by 6 PM. If you are unable to do the TimeToEnter method of entry, please email your roster to Dave Ricer at wfmsruns@hotmail.com Sorry, no faxes!
