Predicted A-AA Girls Team Results
This race has tightened up a bit, but it still looks as though St. Marys has a slight edge over
Grafton. Grafton will have a bit of a wildcard in the lineup with the return of Shelby McDougal.
She hasn't raced since September 26th. A really strong run from her and this could get very
interesting. St. Marys can't afford to relax. They will have to run better than they did at
the Regional Meet to take home the title. Berkeley Springs has an outside shot at the title.
Much will depend on Chelsea Hessler and Rachelle Myer for them. Those two were running well
and then disappeared for a few weeks. Both performed decently at the Regional but were still off
from their prior levels. Ravenswood could be a factor with a big time run from Brooke Sheets.
Shady Spring isn't likely to repeat, but they're not completely out of it either. A big time
run from Taylor Jackson could put them in the hunt. I have St. Marys just 6 points ahead of
Grafton. Berkeley Springs is another 28 back. I have Berkeley Springs, Ravenswood, and Shady
Spring within 9 points of each other and Wheeling Central just another 5 behind. Their ability
to be in the hunt for 3rd is almost solely dependent on the availability of Brianna Robbins.
Robbins did not finish the Regional Meet but was running in 2nd place after 2.5 miles before
dropping out. If she's unable to run, they fall much further back.

Predicted A-AA Girls Top 25
This one is really tough. I can see any of the front four winning it. Sarah McCauley had the
strongest Regional run. Sami Harris has been excellent on flatter courses. Maggie Drazba has
run undefeated for the season. Erica Hayes has been very impressive but hasn't run against any
of the top competition except for Harris. Hayes has a few very convincing wins over Harris
and the one time I saw her in person, I was very impressed. I'm giving her the nod. I went with
Drazba at 2nd courtesy of her two narrow wins over McCauley. The made Harris a fairly clear #4.
Rebekah McBride should have been in this group as well, but fell and was injured at her Regional
meet. Molly Summers has clearly had the next best season. Desiree Roseberry finished 2nd last
year and has picked it up late in the season. Makayla Shamblin, like Hayes, hasn't run against most
of the top competition, so she's a little hard to gauge. She does have one solid win over Harris
on her resume. Chelsea East has been very solid and steady all year. Brianna Robbins is running
a bit injured and was unable to finisher her Regional run. She was running in 2nd place when she
dropped out. She was also an All-State Performer last year, so it's hard to leave her out. I went
with Ally Hoyer for the 10th spot. She edged Emily Rector at the Regional Meet and won 2 of 3 seasonal
meetings between the two. Bethany Carroll has run well late in the season and had one of the 10 best
Regional runs. Macy Houck was All-State last year and runs the State Meet course well. Ali Johnson
and Beverly Knight are definite top 10 threats. It wouldn't be that big a surprise for any of the top
22 to get into the top 10.
