Predicted A-AA Girls Team Results
This should be a great team race. I have three teams within 7 points of each other. Shady Spring has sat atop the Power Rankings all season long, but their path to the title is not clear by any means. Wheeling Central's ability to be a factor may depend on the availability of Molly Kurtz. She did not run the regional meet, and I don't know if she'll be at the State Meet or not. I've based the predictions on the assumption that she will run. Grafton is the defending champion and certainly has the ability to repeat. Berkeley Springs is very strong and usually performs well as a group at the State Meet. It would take a monumental effort for them to win it, but it's not out of the realm of possibility. St. Marys was at one point the team to beat, but some injury and illness issues have knocked them down the charts. They could move up, but at this point I have trouble seeing them win it all. Frankfort has moved up dramatically late in the season with the emergence of Victoria McBride as a solid performer. Like St. Marys, I don't see them being a threat to win it, but they could definitely move up. Doddridge and Charleston Catholic could move up with a good day or if anyone else falters.

Predicted A-AA Girls Top 25
Chelsea Callaway hasn't been threatened in Class A-AA this season. Granted, she hasn't run against any of the other top dogs since October 1st, but on that day she handled Ally Hoyer and Emily Kittle with ease. She ran away with the Geico Classic in a time that would have been second only to Rachel Buser in last year's State Meet. Her method on the year has been to go out hard and dare anyone else to come with her. So far, no one has. Rebecca McBride has stepped forward late in the season to establish herself as number two. Sarah McCauley has also stepped forward late in the season in her first year of Cross Country. Chanel Alexander finished 2nd a year ago, but has lost points in five consecutive meets to close the season. Ally Hoyer is ranked ahead of both Alexander and McCauley and could move up. Molly Summers is very steady and a returning All-State Performer. Emily Kittle only finished 9th in her Region, but that was her worst race of the season. She has spent most of the season running very well. Jessie John is a returning All-State performer as well and has been steady this season. Kelley Mortakis has also been very steady and has climbed the rankings throughout the season. She has been within 5 seconds of John in their last three meets. Aly Carpenter was third last year but has battled injury through track season and early this season. She has, however, gained points in seven straight meets. Anyone in the top 20 wouldn't be much of a surprise. Beverly Knight spent most of the year ranked in the top five. Desiree Roseberry is very solid and beat several picked ahead of her at the Geico Classic. Macy Houck is an impressive freshman and beat Hoyer at the Wild & Wet Invitational. Chelsea East has beaten Roseberry on multiple occasions and has also beaten Houck and Hoyer. Kinney just beat Kittle, John, Mortakis, Carpenter, and Knight in winning her Regional Meet. So she obviously could get in there. Bethany Carroll just beat Kittle, Carpenter, and Knight at the Regional and has stepped up in her last two meets. Ali Johnson spent much of the season ranked in the top 10.
