Predicted AAA Boys Team Results
This should be a hotly contested team event with at least three different teams sitting atop the Power Rankings over the course of the season. It should come down to those three teams. Wheeling Park is the defending champion and has a top three that can run with anyone. Jefferson is also very strong through the front three and has very good depth. Cabell Midland isn't as strong on the top end but has better packing in the front five and probably better end-to-end depth than either of the other two teams. I have Jefferson coming out on top by a miniscule three points over Cabell Midland. I have Wheeling Park almost twenty points back but a step-up performance from Kevin Busick, Jason Bennett, or Ethan Casey could easily move them into contention. This meet is going to come down to the 3-4-5 runners. Whoever has the good day is going to take home the crown. I only have 11 points separating 4th through 7th. 10 points of that gap is between 4th and 5th. I have Fairmont Senior outdistancing the remaining group. I have Winfield in 5th, just one point ahead of Preston and St. Albans. I have Preston in front of St. Albans based on the # 6 runner. Obviously, any of these teams can crack into the front four and any could climb into the top three if Jefferson, Cabell Midland, or Wheeling Park has a bad day.

Predicted Boys AAA Top 25
This race has closed up considerably over the last half of the season. For most of the season it was really considered a race between Zach Tennant and Cory Hampshire. Hampshire looked strong early, then Tennant broke the course record at Cabell Midland by 15 seconds, making him look like the favorite. Then Hampshire beat Tennant at the Mountaintop Combo. Then Tennant got beaten handily by David Ciarolla and Ciarolla got beaten handily by Cody Pelliccioni. Meanwhile David Caldwell has just kept plugging away, dominating the southern part of the state, and Hampshire has dominated the AAA Eastern Panhandle scene. Now, Tennant is out with a stress fracture, so he's not going to be a factor. Since Hampshire has only been beaten once in West Virginia this year, and that due to a wrong turn, I'm still going with him as the favorite. I'm going with David Ciarolla's experience over Cody Pelliccioni for 2nd despite Pelliccioni's outstanding regional showing. David Caldwell is probably the most consistent performer in the meet and could easily move up. I have Kyle Gramlich in 5th as he seems to always run very well at the State Meet. I have John Binotto in 6th. He hasn't really run as well this year as he did most of last year, but he has beaten both Ciarolla and Gramlich head-to-head this year. I'm going with Craig Pritt in 7th, though I feel like he's a very definite threat to move up as he beat Pelliccioni, Gramlich, and Binotto at the Mountaintop Combo. Brandon Doughty lands in the 8th spot with his quietly solid season. I've moved Logan Wojcik into the 9th position. He has historically run well in the big meets. Trey Beckett is in the 10th spot. He's been somewhat up and down this year, but performed very well at the State Meet last year. That leaves some very strong performers left out of the top 10. Adam Frohnapfel has stepped up his performance the last couple meets. Lucas Greza has been very solid all season long. Russell Mulley showed his mastery of the State Meet course earlier in the year with a 4th place showing at the Geico Classic. Patrick Stanton has been strong all year. Caleb Ellis was very strong early. Kory Farmer has been strong late in the season. Really, anyone inside the top 20 cracking the top 10 wouldn't be much of a surprise. One thing's for sure...it's going to be fun.
