The course will be open for review on Friday, September 19th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  Please do not arrive before 4:00 p.m. because our campus is very congested.  Teams will not have access to the inside of the school (restrooms, locker rooms, etc.) until school has dismissed.  Guides will be provided to each team that plans on viewing the course on Friday.

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL OPEN RACE
A new addition to the Mountaintop Combo will be an elementary school race.  This free event is open to kids in 5th grade and under.  The length of the course will be approximately 800 meters or 1/2 a mile.  Runners will finish in front of large crowd inside Knights Stadium.  All finishers will receive a custom medal.  The elementary school race will begin at 9:00 a.m. and is the first of eight races.  There is no need to register in advance for this event.  Please let the parents of your athletes know that "little brothers and sisters" can run too.

CONCESSION STAND
The Preston Cross Country parents will have a full menu of food and drink options.  Coaches will receive a free lunch of their choice.  In addition to lunch, breakfast items  (fruit, donuts, juice, pastries, etc.) will be available in the library before the start of the first race.

T-SHIRT SALES
The official Mountaintop Combo t-shirt will be on sale for $10.00.  The shirts will have black and white screens and will be available in cardinal red, Carolina blue, yellow, gray, Irish green, light purple, and Texas orange.  The logo for the t-shirts is attached to this email.  Please remind your athletes to purchase a shirt early because we normally sell out fast.

T-SHIRT EXCHANGE TABLE
We will have tables set up for athletes to trade t-shirts with one another.  Athletes will turn in one or more team shirts and receive a coupon in exchange.  They can use the coupon to pick out a t-shirt from another school.  The more shirts that athletes bring, the more diverse their collection can become.  Please only bring team t-shirts.  Road race shirts or non-school t-shirts will not be accepted.

AWARDS

The top twenty-five individuals in both the varsity high school and middle school races will receive custom medals. In the junior varsity races, the top ten individuals will receive custom medals. The top five schools (not teams) in the varsity high school and middle school competition will receive plaques. The top ten boys and girls finishers in the elementary race will receive custom medals and all participants will receive a ribbon.

The fee to enter the Mountaintop Combo is $75.00 per high school or middle school regardless of how many athletes compete (junior varsity, varsity, etc.).  If you have not mailed out a check yet, please just bring it with you on Saturday.  The cost for spectators is $4.00 for adults and $3.00 for school-aged children and senior citizens.

PARKING
Buses and coaches transporting gear (tents, equipment, etc.) will be given a pass to park in the back of the school near the stadium.  All vehicles will travel in a clockwise direction around the school.  Buses will drop off athletes and equipment and then park at the county bus garage.  Please ask for a pass when your vehicle is stopped to collect admission.  Anyone in your traveling party that is handicapped will also be given a pass to park at the stadium.
