2009 ELKINS FOREST FESTIVAL INVITATIONAL

 

Location:  Davis & Elkins College Athletic Fields, Elkins, WV

                  Site of the 2009 Region II AAA Championships

                  (Former site of the WV State Cross Country Championships)

 

Date:  Saturday, September 19th, 2008

 

Event Times:  Varsity Girls – 10:15am                    Combined JV – 11:45am

                         Varsity Boys – 11:00am                   Awards Ceremony – 12:45pm

 

Entry Fee:  A $60.00 entry fee will be assessed for two varsity teams; $35.00 for one

                    varsity team; or $5.00 per individual.  There are no charges for JV.

 

Course Description:  5000 meters, open fields, woodland trails, two stream

                                    crossings, variety of hills.

 

Concessions:  A concession stand will be provided by Elkins High Boosters.

 

T-Shirts:  There will be Forest Festival Invitational T-Shirts available for sale.

 

Coaches Packet:  These will be available at the meet site on arrival.  They will

                               contain meet directions, course maps, and scoring materials. 

                               scoring will be done on Hy-tek.

 

Admission Fee:  Coaches and athletes are free; spectators are required to pay. 

 

Team Tents:  “Tent City” will be next to Gates Tower.  Please do not set up on the

                        gravel roads, they are part of the course.

 

Awards:  First two teams and top 10 individual boys & girls receive plaques.
