Dear Cross Country Coach:

 

            Please consider this letter and the enclosed information to be your invitation to the 24TH  ANNUAL  PARK FALL CLASSIC CROSS COUNTRY MEET sponsored by Wheeling Park High school.  Pertinent information concerning the meet can be found below:

 

DATE:  Saturday, September 8, 2007

 

PLACE:  Wheeling Park High School

 

TIMES:  Coaches meeting - 8:15 A.M.

               Boys Varsity Race - 9:00 A.M.

               Girls Division Race - 5 minutes after last varsity boy finishes.

               Boys Reserve Race - 5 minutes after last girl finishes.

 

GIRLS DIVISION:  All girls will run in the Girls Division Race.  Five or more girls from the same

            team starting AND finishing the race will comprise a full team.  We will allow as many Girls

            from the same school as entered to run.  This is being done in lieu of running a Girls Reserve

            Race.  The 8th runner and up finishing from each team as well as all individuals will be

            dropped in figuring team scoring.

 

COST:  $ 30.00 a team, or $ 50.00 if you enter both a Boys team and a girls team.  No cost for Boys Reserve team IF you enter and run a Boys Varsity team.  

 

ENTRY FORMS:  Please return to us each entry form for which you plan to enter a team or individuals.  (PLEASE FOLLOW DIRECTIONS ON THE ENTRY FORMS COMPLETELY).

 

ENTRY DEADLINE:  All entries must be postmarked by midnight, Saturday, September 1, 2007.  You may FAX your entries no later than Monday, September 3, 2007 by 4:00 P.M.  Our FAX number is (304) 2430-449 and the machine is on 24 hours a day.  If mailing, please send your entries to Bernie Dolan at the high school address.

 

AWARDS:  There will be awards for the Team Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up in the Boys Varsity and Girls Division Races.  Individual awards will go to the top fifteen finishers in each varsity race run.

COURSE:  5,000 meter course mostly grass, with some hard surfaces, chipped stone surfaces, and water hazards.  There may be a couple of muddy areas depending on recent weather conditions. The course is well marked.
