2007 Off-Season Additions

As always, I performed an analysis on last season's meets to compile a list of off-season additions to the Runner Rankings. This is necessary in order to keep the number of ranked runners at a decent level. As with last year, the additions are tiered, but I scaled back just a little because the number of additions was going to be too high. Also, there was going to be a risk of it being too easy to get ranked.

As a result, this year the returning runners had their scores increased by 40 points rather than 50. The off-season additions were again scored on a 5-3-1 basis for being within 15 seconds, 30 seconds, and 60 seconds of getting ranked in each meet. Runners scoring more than 20 points in this system were added at a score of 30 points. Runners scoring from 11 to 19 points were added at a score of 20 points. Runners scoring from 6 to 10 points were added at 15 points, and runners scoring from 2 to 5 points were added at a score of 10 points. This year, runners scoring only 1 point using the 5-3-1 system were not added to the list. This lowered the number of additions by 39 runners.
