Predicted A-AA Girls Team Results
Berkeley Springs has sat atop the rankings for most of the second half of the season and won the very difficult Region II Championship by 11 points. I'll note that in these scores, it is assumed that Meghan Mock will be running. Take her out, and the scores close to 76 and a pair of 94's, still leaving them the favorit, but much more susceptible. There are five very good teams in the mix and it wouldn't be a complete shock for any of them to walk away with the title. Doddridge and Charleston Catholic came out as a tie, but I have Doddridge's #6 picked ahead of Charleston Catholic's #6. Grafton could have seven finish before anyone else's fifth finishes, and if they move up as a unit could really be a threat. Winfield is starting to come back after a lull in the middle of the season.
1. Berkeley Springs 63
2. Doddridge 95
3. Charleston Catholic 95
4. Grafton 111
5. Winfield 112
6. Ritchie 133
7. Wheeling Central	146
8. Shady Spring	166
9. PikeView 178

Predicted A-AA Girls Top 25
As with last year, there's really not much question who will walk away with the individual title. Rachel Buser may finish before the 2nd place runner comes onto the track. Stephanie Caruso looks like a very solid pick for 2nd. Things get really tight after that. Naomi Hyde was slotted in third over Breanna Henry due to a pair of head-to-head wins over Henry. Truelove split a pair of meetings with Hyde during the season. Lauren Bauer also split with Hyde in their only head-to-head meetings. She's not run particularly well the last three meets, but came up big in last year's State Meet. Darby Mullen struggled through the mid-season but appears to be coming back into form. Maria Saunders beat Henry at the Regional Meet and beat Mullen on a couple occasions and could move up. Mundey has started closing the gap on teammate Henry late in the season and had a great State Meet run last year. Melanie Manning battled injury through much of the second half of the season. Fully healthy, she's a top five contender. Really, the girls picked in the top 25 or so are looking at a situation in which a good day gets them in the top 5 or 10 and a bad day leaves them outside the top 25. There's not much room for error in this group. The predicted top 25 are as follows:
