HIGHLANDER CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

 

DATE:  Monday, October 16th 2006

 

TIME:  Course Open for Teams to Tour 3:00 to 4:00 “Coaches pick up packets”

            Note: “it will take about a 1hr to walk the course; maps will be provided at site”

4:15 Coaches Meeting

4:30 Boys Race

4:35 Girls Race

           

WHERE: Webster Co. High School “Big Ditch Lake” Cowen, WV 26206

 

DIRECTIONS: Coming from Rt. 19 (Summersville) turn onto 41 New River Community College will be on your Left follow this road to Craigsville where at the Stop light continue straight through towards Cowen.  When you come to a water treatment plant on your right you will turn on to Birch River Road to your Left this will take you directly to the lake which in on the Left.

 

DIRECTIONS: Coming from I-79 turn on to US Rt. 19 Exit 57 “BECKLEY EXIT”  travel to you see the Birch River Exit then take this road towards Cowen you will come to Y in the road you will need to stay on the main road this will lead you to the Lake.

 

AWARDS: Team – First & Second Place for both Boys and Girls

            INDIVIDUALS à 1-10 BOYS / GIRLS

 

ENTRY FEE: $35.00 ONE TEAM OR $50.00 FOR TWO, $7.00 PER INDIVIDUAL

 

MAKE CHECKS PAYABLE TO: WEBSTER CO. HIGH SCHOOL

 

COURSE: 5000 meters, Varied including, Open paths along the lake with grass and some gravel, Woodland trails, wood bridges, 1 very challenging hill clime “Pine Grove” & one hill climb “Deer Berry”
