Motel Rooms for State Meet

Deadline for room requests is Friday (Oct 20th) by 9:00pm

Dear Coaches,

The state meet is fast approaching and plans are set for your arrival at Cabell Midland High School on October 27th & 28th. Teams that travel will need a place to stay on Friday night. The Marshall University Football team will be having their Homecoming game on October 28th, so we secured rooms for the state meet over 5 months ago. Since rooms will be hard to come by, you will be making your reservations thru us. This will be a lot of added work on our part, but it’s what’s best for traveling teams to ensure they have rooms. Our first obligation will be to the teams & coaches. Then whatever rooms are left over; I will release them on Sunday afternoon prior to the state meet. Parents should call the motels ASAP in order to secure their rooms. I looked online at the following sites: http://hotels.justlodgings.com/index.jsp & http://www.travelocity.com/?Service=TRAVELOCITY and found rooms available in our area, so parents don’t have to wait until Sunday.

 

We have secured rooms at the Days Inn $45.00 (Exit 15 (304) 733-9867 -9 miles from course), Stone Lodge $59.00 (Exit 20 (304) 736-3451- 8 miles from course), Hampton Inn $75.00 (Exit 39 (304) 760-7292 -16 miles from course), Motel 6 $65.00 (Exit 47 (304) 776-5911 - 23 miles from course), Comfort Inn $73.00 (Exit 47 (304) 776-8070 23 miles from course). I can’t guarantee any team a certain motel & will base it on how many rooms your team requires. However, if you find a different motel than the above list on your own, we will pay for the free rooms that you are suppose to receive (you must let me know the name of the motel). Your school will make the check out to the Cabell Midland Athletic Boosters and your rooms will already be paid for upon your arrival. You will bring your check to the meet and give it to us on Friday or Saturday at packet pick-up. Just a reminder to traveling teams about free rooms.  The free rooms will be paid for by Cabell Midland High School.

 

If your boys or girls team qualifies – 2 free rooms

If both qualify – 4 free rooms

If individuals qualify – 1 free room

We need the following information from each school:

 

Number of rooms __________  (You are responsible for payment of these rooms, except for your free rooms. There is a no cancellation policy in effect, so make sure you need all requested rooms for athletes & coaches.) Example:  Number of rooms     5    .  Both girls & boys qualified. You would only owe for 1 room.

We will notify all schools of the motel arrangements by Sunday, so you will know where you’re staying and the cost of your total bill. I will know how many rooms you receive free after looking at the Regional results.

We have only put down 5 motels with rates because these motels allowed me to block numerous rooms for this weekend. However, if you make your own reservations at any motel, we will honor your free rooms. You will have to put down the motel you selected other than the above 5, so I can make arrangements for paying for your free rooms.
