Cross-Country

INVITATIONAL

 

Dear Fellow Coaches,

       Elkins Middle School would like to invite your team(s) to our annual North Eastern Middle School Cross-Country Invitational.  There will be an admission charge, concession, and t-shirt for sale.

EVENT DATE:

(Saturday, September 23rd, 2006)

 

     Our course will be 2.0 miles approximately.  There will be one small hill at the start, one moderate hill after the 1st ˝ mile, two creek crossings and a flat level finish.  A short portion of the course will be on blacktop.  There will be an alternate course planned in an event we have significant rain and the kids cannot cross the streams.

 

 

 

RUNNING SCHEDULE:

      Please arrive in time to walk the course if you want.  I will only delay the first race if I know a team will be late, not because a team is still walking the course.

 

1.                       Boys Varsity --------------------------- 9:30 a.m.

2.                       Girls Varsity -------------------------- 10:00 a.m.

3.                       Jr. Varsity Boys & Girls --------------- 10:30 a.m.

 

Awards will be below the Gate House or @ the Pavilion ---- 12:00 a.m.

 

 

HORNET’S INVITATIONAL AWARDS

2006 CROSS-COUNTRY SEASON

ELKINS MIDDLE SCHOOL (HOST SCHOOL)

 

    

     The following awards will be handed out: (Sponsored by “Elkins Kiwanis”)

 

1.     Finishers ribbon

2.     1st, 2nd, 3rd, & 4th   place team trophies for Boys & Girls Varsity teams.

3.     Individual team trophies for 1st place Boys & Girls teams…(one for each team member) – (Bronze “runner”)

4.      Individual team medals for 2nd & 3rd place Boys & Girls teams…(one for each team member)

5.      Individual team ribbons for 4th place boys & girls teams. (One for each team member)

6.      Team awards for top (2) Jr. Varsity boys/girls teams.

 

INDIVIDUAL AWARDS 

1). Individual awards to the Top 20 Boys & Girls Varsity runners…(1st-10th,

      small trophy) – (11th –20th, Medal)

 

2). Individual “Medals” to the Top 15 Boys & Girls Jr. Varsity runners…

 

 

                                          ENTRY FEES

 

     Please make all entry fees payable to “ Elkins Middle School Cross-Country”.   Coaches, you may choose two methods of getting me your entry fee,  #1. Mail to; Coach Todd Price, 213 Hickory Drive, Elkins, WV 26241, or # 2. Hand deliver your entry fee when you arrive.  Do not worry; I will not get nasty if you forget.  Your team can still run.  We are doing this for our young athlete’s.

____ For (1) Varsity Team --- Boys (or) Girls - $$$$ (25.00)

 

____ For any incomplete teams, --- Boys or Girls -- $$$ 2.00 per runner

 

**Jr. Varsity runners,  (No charge), bring as many as you can.
