Bobcat Kickoff Classic

I. INTRO -- The 5th Annual Bobcat Kickoff Classic is scheduled for Saturday, August 26 at the Buckhannon Alliance Church. Based on your feedback, we have made a few slight alterations to the program this year. The middle school awards will be handled before the high school races start. This should alleviate the crowd congestion. Secondly, we will run one of our JV races before the high school varsity races. With this change, there will be only one JV race contested while the results are being tallied.

II. TIME SCHEDULE -- 9:00 -- Middle School Girls

                                 9:30 -- Middle School Boys

                                 10:15 -- Middle School Awards

                                 10:30 -- High School Girls JV

                                 11:00 -- High School Girls Varsity

                                 11:30 -- High School Boys Varsity

                                 12:00 -- High School Boys JV

                                 12:30 -- High School Awards

III. DISTANCES -- High School -- 3.1 miles

                          Middle School -- 2.1 miles

IV. COURSE DESCRIPTION -- Rolling hills, spectator friendly. A series of short uphills, with long extended downhills. Two bridge crossings on each loop.

V. AWARDS -- Top 10 for each varsity race, both middle school and high school. Top 3 in each high school junior varsity race.

VI. DIRECTIONS TO BUCKHANNON & THE COURSE-- The Buckhannon Alliance Church is located just three miles from Buckhannon's downtown.

I-79 to US 33 will get you to town.

Take the Wesleyan exit off the four-lane of U.S. 33 (Corridor H). This exit is Route 20.

Folllow Route 20 South for three stoplights (approximately two miles). You will be in front of McDonalds at the third light. After going through this light, you will encounter a "Y" in the road, take the left option which is Marion Street.

Go approximately one-half mile on Marion Street until crossing the Buckhannon River. Once over the bridge, take a right.

The road winds for about a half-mile when you will come to a stop sign (Ralph's Furniture will be on your left). Go through that stop sign, and the Buckhannon Alliance Church will be a half-mile away.

VII. ENTRY FEES -- $30 per individual team. Girls and Boys team combined would be $60 per school. If less than five entered, the cost will be $5 per individual.

VIII. ENTRY PROCEDURE -- Entries are due by Wednesday, August 23rd, at 12:00 noon. E-mail, mail, or fax your entries. There will be a limit of seven entries for the high school varsity races, all others will be unlimited. Checks need to be made to "Friends of Bobcat Track"
