Andrew Benford 12th at World Mountain Running Championships

Andrew Benford, formerly of Ravenswood, currently running for the University of Richmond, finished in 12th place at the World Mountain Running Championships held in Bursa, Turkey. Andrew was the top finisher for the US in the Junior Men's Race. His time was 46:36 (which is around 8:50 per mile, just to tell you how tough this event is) for the 8.5K course. The US Junior Men's team finished 8th of 17 teams, which Andrew reports is the top US Junior Men's finish ever. Andrew has a recap of the race on his blog on the site www.youthrunner.com.
