Predicted A-AA Girls Team Results
This should be the best team race of the four events. I look at this one
and see five teams that could walk away with the title. Certain assumptions
were made in making the predictions. One is that Valerie Peer, who hasn't
run since September 20th, will not be running for Berkeley Springs. We have
now adjusted the predictions based on the assumption that Allison Cox will be
running for Winfield. In the interest of full disclosure, I'll go ahead and
say that if I was to put Valerie Peer into the predictions (she's now listed
as Questionable rather than Doubtful), that Berkeley Springs would be favored
by over 20 points. As it stands, on the assumption that Peer will not run,
it looks like Charleston Catholic will be the team to beat. They may not have
a single runner finish in the top 10, but they could get 5 in the top 25. With
Cox back in the fold, Winfield has moved into the 2nd spot and did sit atop
the rankings for most of the season. The late season surges of Kari Mundey
and Adrienne Moretz bolster Berkeley Springs' hopes. Ritchie is the defending
champion and could repeat. Doddridge is also in the mix for the title. After
the loss of Clara Grandt and Jennie Spencer, they weren't really expected to
contend, but here they are. Grafton has knocked off Doddridge on several occasions
and could move up the list.

1. Charleston Catholic 75
2. Winfield 84
3. Berkeley Springs 89
4. Ritchie 89
5. Doddridge 98
6. Grafton 110
7. Wheeling Central	125
8. PikeView 185
9. Shady Spring	248

Predicted A-AA Girls Top 25
There's really not a question as to who will win the individual race. The
question is can she break her own record from last season. Rachel Buser
nearly beat last year's time at the Chick-Fil-A Invitational. Stephanie
Caruso looks like a solid 2nd. Darby Mullen will try to hold off Megan
Truelove for 3rd. Truelove did beat Mullen at the Regional Meet. Elizabeth
Hyde has been strong throughout the season. Sarah Rosier has beaten Hyde
during the season and was right on her tail at the regional meet. Jamie
Cokeley has a history of stepping up at the State Meet, so she's been elevated
to 7th. Maggie McCort was also right on Hyde's tail at the regional meet.
Melanie Manning ran very strong at her regional meet and could easily move
higher. Alexis Emch is the top candidate to round out the top 10, though
pretty much anyone in the top 25 or so could realistically steal a spot.
