THE TIMES INVITATIONAL CROSS COUNTRY MEET
MIDDLE SCHOOL/JUNIOR HIGH DIVISION
The Times
Invitational Cross-Country meet will be held October 8, 2005 at Apple Valley
Golf Course in Fairmont, WV. This
year we are looking forward to another exciting meet and would like to invite
your team to participate!
The
meet is sponsored by the TIMES-WEST VIRGINIAN and Fairmont Senior High School
Cross-Country Teams. The meet is WVSSAC
sanctioned and under the guidelines of the National Federation of Track &
Field and Cross-Country rules for boys and girls-2005.
AWARDS Trophies will be awarded
to the Team Champion, Runner-up AND third Place in both boy’s and girl’s
varsity races. The first 15 individuals
in each varsity race as well as the top 7 boys and top 7 girls in the J-V races
will also receive awards. . Refreshments will be provided for race
participants. Complete results will be distributed during the awards ceremony.
COURSE The course is
approximately 3000m consisting of some hills and is mostly grassy. It is on a golf course. The Varsity and J-V races will be run
separately in both boy’s and girl’s competition. Boy’s and Girl’s J-V is a combined race.
ENTRY FEE The entry fee for the
race is $25.00 per team or $40.00 for both boy’s and girl’s teams. An admission charge of $4.00 for adults /
$3.00 for students will be applied for anyone not transporting a team of five
or more in one vehicle, in uniforms.
All WVSSAC passes will be honored.
Only Fairmont Senior High School Courtesy passes will be honored.
RESERVATION If you are interested in
participating in the meet this year, please fill out and return the enclosed
form by September 9 or e-mail your response to Dave Ricer at ramscc@hotmail.com or fax to Ricer at
775-923-8220 (internet based). Enclosed
is an entry form for the race. It will
be due Friday, September 29th 2005.
Please do contact and let us know if your team is coming or not so our
Boosters can make comfortable arrangements.
PARKING Shuttle buses will run starting at 7:15 from Wal-Mart and
will run throughout the meet. Parking
at the Apple Valley course will be limited to handicapped, coaches with
equipment, and meet personnel. Busses will unload at the site and then return
to the Whitehall Church of Christ.

775-923-8220 (internet based) or Email ramscc@hotmail.com . Please list every possible runner that may participate in the Times. The deadline for your entry is 2:00 PM, September 29th. If you have any changes / corrections they can easily be handled at the coach's meeting (or you may fax them the day before prior to 2:00 PM). Entries will gladly be accepted by email as long as all the following information is included in a similar format.
