Meet: A-AA Girls State Meet Predictions
Location:	Mineral Wells, WV
Date: To be held October 30, 2004

Predicted A-AA Girls Team Results
Doddridge has held the top spot in the Power Rankings throughout the
season and shows 5 of the top 21 in the individual rankings. Ritchie
has put a scare into Doddridge several times. Wheeling Central's only
race against the top A-AA schools came at the Regional where they gave
Ritchie all they could handle. Any of these three teams could take the
title. Doddridge is the favorite but cannot afford a let-down. Berkeley
Springs has the 1st and 3rd rated girls and their 3-4-5 runners have
improved dramatically over the 2nd half of the season. Grafton has been
steady as a team all season, but some of the individual runners have been
very up and down. If they all hit an "up" day, they could slip in for a
top 3 finish. Charleston Catholic is another team that is a little bit
of a wild card. They have a good pack for their front four, and the the
foursome move up together, they could also climb a few spots in the team
standings.

1. Doddridge 53
2. Ritchie 64
3. Wheeling Central 66
4. Berkeley Springs 99
5. Grafton 107
6. Charleston Catholic	118

8. Richwood 203

Predicted A-AA Girls Top 25
Rachel Buser has established herself among the best the State has ever
seen. Her 18:24 at the Regional Meet was faster than Jessica Taylor,
Holly Hunter, Jennifer Davis, or Susan Davis ever ran on the Williamstown
course. She comes into the meet as a clear favorite. Valerie Peer and
Clara Grandt have split their two meetings this year. With Peer taking
the most recent meeting and considering that she's the course record holder
at Mineral Wells, we'll give her the edge over Grandt. Jennie Spencer
has come on strong late in the season and is the favorite for the 4th
spot. Melanie Manning looks to cap off a fine Freshman season by taking
a top five spot. She also owns several wins over Spencer. Kerry Davis
is evidence of what can happen when someone really starts to take the sport
seriously. She was barely a ranked runner last year, and now she's poised
to be All-State. Holly Rooper and Kasey Jividen have battled as teammates
all season. Rooper has won the last couple meetings, so we've given her
the edge. However, Jividen finished 4th last year. Jamie Cokeley was an
All-State performer last year and looks to duplicate that feat this year.
Nicole Tingler is the favorite to snare the final spot, though there are
a number of other prime competitors. The predicted top 25 are as follows:
