Predicted AAA Boys Team Results

Cabell Midland has dominated competition all season long. Their group
of seven stacks up among the top teams the state has seen with their
front five going under 17:00 at the regional. Their top five all reside
in the top 14 of the individual rankings. Preston has been solidly
second all season long and sport 3 guys inside the top 9 in the individual
rankings. University has come on strong late in the season with their
3-4-5 guys really improving late in the season. North Marion is strong
as well and could easily slip into the top 3.

Predicted Boys AAA Top 25

Eric Cooper had sat atop the individual rankings for the entire season
until Ryan Skotnicki passed him after the Regional rankings. This could
be a very good race, but we see Cooper as having superior speed on a
course that favors speed. However, Skotnicki did turn a 15:43 on a road
course in October. Eric Ryan has climbed solidly into 3rd position and
should hold that spot. Sean Beckett has a history of performing extremely
well at the State Meet. Combined with his recent fast times, we've
elevated him to 4th. Joseph Schaeffer has run outstandingly in recent
meets and could take that 4th spot. He may not quite have the footspeed
of some of the other competitors, but he's steady and consistent and doesn't
panic early. Bryan Hooton could move as far up as 3rd. The second half
of the season has been rough, but this is a guy that finished 3rd last
year in 16:37. Brian Bridgewater has been consistently fast for Cabell
Midland all season. Joseph Morris is another that is perceived as being
stronger on more difficult courses but he proved that isn't necessarily
true last season, so we're keeping him in the top 10 again this year. Landry
Boggess is a bit of a wild-card in the mix. He beat Bridgewater and Beckett
at the Regional and could easily move up. Travis Mersing looks to give
Preston a 3rd All-State competitor, but will have to hold off Cass Meadows
and Josh Holley and a host of others that are right on his heels to do it.
