Ashland Invitational

On behalf of Ashland Paul Blazer High School, we are extending an invitation for your school to be a part of the 4th annual Ashland Invitational on October 9th, 2004. The meet site is Wildwood Park (host of the 2004 Regional Meets for Class AAA Region 5 and Class AA Region 5).

The course is run entirely on trails and grass and is a combination of rolling hills and flat areas, which should provide for exciting races. The infamous “HEARTBREAK HILL” is a large part of the course’s popularity. The high school races will be 5,000 meters, the junior high/middle school races will be 3,000 meters, and the elementary races will be 1,600 meters. There will be a small admission fee for spectators. Change facilities and restrooms will be on site. There will be a large area for school tents and parking. In the event of inclement weather, various buildings are available for cover for participants as well as spectators. Exclusive Ashland Invitational T-shirts will be on sale. Hot and cold concessions will be available. The awards’ ceremony will be next to the start/finish area.

Entry fees for our meet are $30 per High School Varsity Team, $20 per Junior Varsity Team and $15 per Junior High/Middle School Team, $0 per Elementary Team. There is a $5 per runner fee for all other individuals. There will be a $100 per school maximum fee regardless of the number of teams entered. Please make checks payable to: Ashland Paul Blazer Cross Country and mail to Phillip Caudill, 1600 Blackburn Ave. Ashland, KY 41102. The deadline for entry applications and fees is OCTOBER 2, 2004. No entries after the deadline and no refunds.

NOTICE: Any school whose entry fee has not been received by the day of the race will not be allowed to participate. “Checks in the mail” do not constitute received payment.

IMPORTANT

Please note that all schools CLASS A and AA in Kentucky will be in the small school division. All teams Class AAA in Kentucky will be in the large school division. Out of state teams will be placed in each division accordingly. Races have been divided into divisions since the course is also the Regional Site for 2 Regional Meets.
There will only be 10 runners per team allowed in the VARSITY RACES. All other races have unlimited entries.
The high school girls’ reserve race will be 4,000 meters.
