Meet: A-AA Boys State Meet Predictions Location: Mineral Wells, WV Date: To be held November 1, 2003 Predicted A-AA Boys Team Results Ravenswood has been widening the gap over the last few weeks. What used to be a tie with Scott in the Power Rankings has turned into an 18 point lead. They have two of the top 3 ranked runners in the State and solid depth, and as a result are favored to take the team title yet again. Scott appears to be the closest contender. A good meet will certainly put them in the running for the title, so they should not be taken lightly by anyone. Williamstown was looking like a very solid 3rd place, but it appears that Ryan Jobes will not be able to compete at the State Meet, making the race for third a four-way affair. 1. Ravenswood 45 2. Scott 54 3. Grafton 100 4. Ritchie 100 5. Williamstown 113 6. Frankfort 119 7. East Hardy 175 8. PikeView 203 Predicted Boys A-AA Top 25 The LKC is the place to be. The top 3 ranked runners are from the LKC. Sophomore Andrew Benford has been the one to beat all season long...and that's just what brother Adam Benford did at the Regional Meet. We're looking at those two to give Ravenswood a 1-2 finish. Roane's Justin Bossert is also a very strong contender and could very well take the title. Tyler Morando is a bit of an unknown. He was running well, and then really opened some people's eyes when he knocked off University's Ryan Skotnicki, one of the top AAA Runners this year, at the Cameron Wild & Wet Invitational. He could definitely factor into the title chase. Those four are likely the contenders for the crown. Things get very tight after that. Michael Smutko has run strong throughout the season. Kyle Lester has run well against top competition when given the chance. Josh Wagner has gotten steadily better throught the season. Wes Snodgrass is one of the most improved runners this year. Justin McEldowney has been very consistent, as has Shaw Dier. Several others have very legitimate hopes of cracking the top 10.
