Dear Coach:

Charleston Catholic High & Middle School wishes to extend an invitation to your High School and Middle School Cross Country Teams to participate in the 9th C.C.H.S. Invitational. The meet will be held at Camp Virgil Tate on Tuesday September 16, 2003. The meet is sanctioned by the S.S.A.C.. The course will be the original course, meaning that the large hill will be run twice at the high school level.

Again, there will be three races. (Boys high school, middle school boys & girls combined, and Girls high school.) Only the top seven(7) on your team will be scored. You may enter as many runners as you wish, but all runners after the top seven will be removed and team scores will then be added.

A computer scoring system will be employed again this year, and we need the names of your runners with your entry form. Scratches, changes, additions and deletions will be allowed at the check-in table the day of the race.

Charleston Catholic H.S. Cross Country Invitational

High School Coaches Only!!!

1. The running course for HS was changed last year. We will run the original course from years ago. See the course map. The runners will run the big hill twice. The start & finish will remain on the flat field.

Thanks for attending. You should receive a separate packet for a girls team/runners and a boys team/runners. Enclosed in this packet is a map of the course, several sticker labels, an envelope, and this instruction sheet. Lane assignments will be on the front of the packet.

Runner Changes: Any scratches, additions, modifications can be made at the check-in table.

Your runners are invited to walk the course prior to the first race. However, by 4:45pm all runners must be off the course. The high school boys will race first at 4:45pm. The girls and boys middle school will race combined at 5:25pm The high school girls will run at 6:00pm. Make sure your athletes are prompt. We anticipate the awards ceremony by 6:45pm.

Upon the completion of each race, please complete the following:

1.     Labels:
      ŸRecord the full name of each runner, the school name, and their stick number on a label
      ŸDo not remove the labels. Keep the labels on their original sheet. DO NOT put them on the sticks.
      ŸPlace the completed label sheet(s) in the envelope.

2. Envelope:

ŸRecord the names of your top 7 runners in the order of finish on the envelope.

ŸRecord each runner’s place (stick number) next to their name.

ŸThe scorer’s table will determine your JV runners.

3. Sticks: Place the corresponding “sticks” in your envelope. For your runners to be verified, and therefore counted, all sticks of all runners must be included.

4. Please turn in your envelopes (with sticks & labels) to the scorer’s table under the covered picnic area. Envelopes must be turned in within ten (10) minutes upon finish of the last runner of the corresponding race.
